I want a children's fable like THAT:
The bad guy's skin reflects as least as much light as the good guy's. Also, there's no hint of sexual orientation. If there is, it is the same both in the good guy and in the bad guy.

Caste systems and hereditary entitlements are shown in the end to be inherently evil. In the end, the Kingdom becomes a Republic.

The initial weakness and subsequent hard times of the good guy happen because s/he wasn't strong enough to resist authority.

No implication that devouring sentient beings is OK -- i.e. forget linguistically able faunas. People being turned into talking animals MAY be OK.

One of the bad guy's evils is that s/he considers the artistic profession to be inferior.

Any other suggestions?

1. The "Wicked Witch" will look like Cate Blanchett
And the herione will be a 300 pound short woman with a slight mustache. And at the end of the fable, when she is doing her triumphant hero march through town, she'll still be a 300 pound short woman with a slight mustache. And perhaps she ends up marrying the town jailor, who isn't evil but is a genuine, loving good-natured widower with two average kids that he's working hard to support.

4. Ugh. Hated Shrek.
Though I appreciate highly it's courage to go for non-normal heros/villians.

away from the people (by not releasing documents, not telling them of the danger of the pollution in the air/water, keeping the budget secret, replacing legitimate science in schools with creationism or whatever religious doctrine he believes in, etc.)
