Dumbest screen name you've ever had?
I'll start. :)

Back in the day, I was "Zinnia", because for some reason I felt all screen names should start with "Z", and the others I wanted were taken. :eyes:

1. I went on IRC as "jeffzilla" because "earthman" got banned
...due to my incredible, over-the-top foul mouth when talking to right-wingers. Really, really, really foul. Fun though.

2. My screen name was mbfv97b, because it was Prodigy and I had no choice
but my nickname there was "psychovomit." Remember I was a 16-year-old girl.

(I wrote a poem about puking. The nickname stuck.)

That was on the UK version of DU - speakers corner, where i used it just short on, to be a dumb-as shit american bozo thanking all the lovely british people for supporting war and killing arabs so we can even the score on 9/11... so many americans were writing in about how great tony blair was as a good warmonger, i could not help but parody it.

Runner up for worst: ThermonuclearArmageddon
This ID i used to comlement warmongers for achieving my objectives in destroying the human race. Devil's advocate ID's can work better than friendly ones.... but alas, on DU i've been nobody but sweet heart.

14. Its gone, and why i'm on DU now
The main public site was run by the government and was on this site:
www.ukonline.gov.uk There was a BBS there called "your say"

Imagine if DU was part of whitehouse.gov it was the most excellent site, as the whole of the UK had open free speech directly on the government site... nonpartisan no holds barred. Hence why they took it down. It was tooo honest, and the government simply could not handle that the public voice was ahead of their own propaganda arm.

The first year or so of DU's operation, I was on DU UK.. thats how i see it. Free speech was more global. When they closed the board, they suggested people write on the newspaper boards like guardian, telegraph... just those boards are crap... they could not be honest and simply say that the board was breaking their propaganda hoax.

21. hahahahaha - joking of course
The name's popular origins are from the poem below. I use the alternative spelling.

Ozymandias
I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read,
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed,
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

-Percy Bysshe Shelley
1792-1822

I got it about 15 years ago from "Handbook for Happy Mutants." It was supposed to play off the term cyberpunk, and I kind of liked the spirit it was supposed to represent. But I'm 49, have a management job for Verizon, and it just doesn't suit now, if it ever did.

Keep meaning to change it, but nothing really sticks.

11. I've used Tripper(insert number here)
since my first log on to the internet. When I was getting a yahoo I.D. I was trying to think of something really cool etc as we all do. Fortunately or unfortunately as you see it, I happened to be watching a Three's Company rerun (not really watching it just happened to be on) and tried Tripper, and I got it. Then once I started chatting in Yahoo, it just stuck, everyone called me Trip and it worked for me.

It's from that website where you enter your name and it generates what your name would be if you were in Wu Tang Clan. It dubbed me "Asthmatic Enemy Of God," which made me laugh 'cuz I smoke way too much and I'm an atheist. Now it's my handle here, at Plastic.com, AmericanForum, and probably a couple of other places where I don't even remember registering.

Why I keep using it instead of just my initials or something more clever or pertinent, I have no idea.
