2. Actually he had pretty much lost his voice by the time he recorded "L.A. Woman".
He was just shoutin' the blues by then. It sounded good in a bluesy sort of way. But the smooth baritone that fueled The Doors' best psychedelic music was no more.

Today, he'd probably be attending AA meetings, getting in trouble with the law, publishing a volume of poetry once in a while (maybe even on a blog) and, in his own words: "Putting out a blues album every year or two" with The Doors.

30. Eddie Vedder?
Edited on Sat Oct-13-07 12:32 AM by rakeeb
I just couldn't see Jim Morrison working as a PA at whatever would be considered rock's biggest corporation of his day.
No dig on Vedder, he had talent, just don't see Jim taking what anyone would consider a suckup job on his way to his first album.

21. Funny thing about Morrison and Sinatra...
When once asked who he listened to, Morrison replied "After Sinatra, who is there to listen to?"

You can hear the influence in songs like "Moonlight Drive". He had quite the voice.

He'll talk about his his flagging career was saved by his casting as Hannibal Lector in silence of the Lambs, the role that won him an Oscar. He then won a second Oscar for his amazing performance in Leaving Las Vegas. He used his refound fame to go on tour with Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr, which played to sold out shows on 4 continents.

27. He would have been in Bret Michaels' place on that
reality show. Dead people often get glorified. If he or john lennon or james dean or marilyn monroe were still alive, they would be has beens and living jokes.
