How many cocktails do you have in an average night?

None on some nights, if I don't feel the impulse. Perhaps as many as 5 if I had a shitty day, and/or they are just particularly tasty that evening.

young adults/teens in the house so I don't keep much booze around - the bastids never pay me back.

I would have a couple a couple times a week if I could. I do have to watch myself - there is alcoholism in the family and I can step over into binging real easy. (of course I have that problem with food too:P )

Don't ask me how many pills I have taken tonight though. I couldn't honestly tell you. Had a headache, now my head is numb. Mission accomplished. Had a heart, now my heart is numb. Mission accomplished. Wish I had some good drugs though. I'm sick of mild relief when I could be bouncing off the walls and enjoying life a little.

In any case, 5 a night is nothing to worry about. Try going without for 1 night. If you can without thinking about it too much, you are ok. If you cannot, then maybe it wouldn't hurt to look into some help. That's always a good rule of thumb when you don't know if you are addicted to something or not. I KNOW I'm an addict. That's why I don't drink anything except Dr Pepper nowadays...and I'm addicted to that too. So I just traded on addiction for another. :shrug:

Alcohol depresses me. I really notice it for about two days after drinking. I really should stop entirely.

Five a night sounds like an awful lot. How do you feel the next day? Also, isn't that a lot of money? Drinks are pricey. Maybe you are fairly well off and don't have to think about that.
