Old Folks like me — do you still like it LOUD?
On a whim, I put "Frampton Comes Alive" on the turntable (yeah, the turntable), and I've turned it up twice — so far.

Rock 'n' roll was made to be loud. :headbang:

5. It took me a long time to realize
that all the times my folks yelled "TURN THAT CRAP DOWN!!" it was because all they'd ever listened to was Bing Crosby. :eyes:

25. If that's the case, then I was old before I hit puberty.
I like my music loud enough to hear the details, but that's it. :P

26. For me, it depends on what I'm listening to
and/or what my mood is at the time. When I'm listening to music through headphones in bed at night, I usually keep it pretty quiet, but if I'm home alone and I wanna rock out, I'm crankin' that sh*t up! :headbang: (Especially if it's The Who, man...hearing John Entwistle's basslines is a good thing, but sometimes I think feeling them is even better! :loveya: I do love me some Thunderfingers.)

Bass should be felt in one's bones and internal organs. The highs should resonate with correlative electrical impulses in the brain.

You do know bass frequencies are engineered to be felt in the groin, no? :D

49. Well, ya know, a little chest action never hurt anyone either.
:P

Groin is a nice place to feel it too, but I usually feel it in my chest first, then the ol' groin kicks in and wants some too.

11. I switched to 'The Wall'
The "gold master" CD.

Pink Floyd were incredible producers and engineers to begin with. Hearing them on a high-quality CD just brings that out more.

43. Bob Ezrin produced that one, if I recall correctly.
That album has some amazing guitar tones throughout -- my favorite being "Run Like Hell."

What a masterpiece that album is.

Very loud. They're releasing a fancy-ass 12" this weekend, so even us young'ns use turntables sometimes.

15. How else are we old folks supposed to hear it, oh I mean listen to it. : )
I agree and yes I have scared myself after listening to music on the computer and then turning it off without turning the volume down. That windows jingle comes on suddenly and it's scary when you forget the volume is up so loud.
