The city of Watertown, MA voted to discontinue its participation in an Anti-Defamation League hold-hands-and-sing-Kumbaya program to protest the ADL's refusal to support a congressional resolution condemning the Armenian genocide. Watertown has one of the largest Armenian communities in the country.

The flap eventually cost the local ADL director his job when he sided with the Armenian community.

I have been accused of being a neo-nazi in a conversation about genetic drift in the science forum though. Apparently one little-known fact I quoted is something that white supremecists have waved around trying to claim that 'white people' had a stake in one of the big ancient cultures. Not that I knew that, since I don't frequent those kind of websites. And nevermind the fact that some assholes waving it around to try and prove some crazy point doesn't make the fact itself any less valid. And nevermind the fact that I was pointing out the exact opposite of white supremecy... about how the fair-skinned genes will disappear pretty quickly when you live in a sunny environment for a few generations. I.E., the useful genes win the fight, and there's no added usefulness to pale skin.

Also nevermind the fact that this guy didn't know me at all... and certainly didn't know that I'm a quarter jewish and a quarter native american. And that the jewish part of my family only survived this century because they left Poland before WWII.
