For OMC: Post a pic, a word or two or both
It may be a while before OMC comes on back here to share more of what and how he, the boys, and the family and friends are doing.

Meanwhile, let's surround him with love.

So post away with pics, words of healing/support, inspiration, and/or anything else positive.

I'll start.

For OMC~~A Wish For You

As your spirit continues in this life,
and Stacey's spirit remains within you,
may you discover the moment when both spirits unite
in lifting you toward healing.

2. Thanks for offering your love and hugs
Am hoping others will post as well.

Words can be hard to come by for something like this...so, it doesn't have to be words...a pic of nature, or a contemplative painting of some sort...things such as that will do, too

5. my love to omc and his sweet boys
Edited on Wed Oct-10-07 08:13 PM by kagehime

I am standing at the seashore.

The boat at my side spreads her white sails and heads for the blue green ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength.

I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky seem to come down and mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side softly says "There, she is gone."

Gone where?

Gone from my side, that is all.

She is just as large in mast and hull and spar and sail as she was when she left my side, and just as able to bear the load of living freight to the place of destination.

Her diminished size is in us, not in her.

And just at that moment, when someone at my side softly says "There, she is gone." There are other eyes largely watching the horizon, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout - "There she comes."

9. I still haven't mastered the posting the picture thing
So I will only send my good thoughts, as I have daily since I learned of all of this, and what I think of when I think of my friend, Paige, who was kidnapped and murdered 17 years ago. She was alive, vibrant, and unforgettable....like we learned Stacey was. When I think of Paige -- and now Stacey -- I think of another woman who was vibrant and the center of everything and who also left this earth too soon, Kathleen Kennedy, and I think of her epitaph: JOY SHE GAVE, JOY SHE HAS FOUND. I hope that is true in Stacey's case, and I hope it brings OMC and his boys some peace and comfort.

16. Some Times it's Night, Some Times it's Day
Edited on Wed Oct-10-07 10:53 PM by TomInTib
Sometimes it's Night
Sometimes it's Day
Sometimes you run
And sometimes you stay

But it still goes 'round...

And you find your Way.

Sometimes it hurts
Oh, it hurts so bad
You curse the Sky
And you get so mad

But it still goes 'round...

And you find your Way.

At the risk of coming off as small and insignificant, I have been with this all of the way.

If I knew how to pray, I would now be praying for OPERATIONMINDCRIME and Stacy.

But I don't know how to pray.

So I wrote something.

28. For OMC and his boys, with love

The Rose

Some say love it is a river
that drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
and you its only seed

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking
that never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
who cannot seem to give
and the soul afraid of dying
that never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter
far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed
that with the sun's love
in the spring
becomes the rose

-- Bette Midler

34. Quotes from a couple of my favorite poets
Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 03:40 PM by Withywindle
...And death shall have no dominion,
Dead men naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon
When the bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot,
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again,
Though lovers be lost, love shall not,
and death shall have no domion.
--Dylan Thomas

***

When the words stop
And you can endure the silence
That reveals your heart's Pain

Of emptiness
Or that great wrenching-sweet longing,

That is the time to try and listen
To what the Beloved's Eyes

Most want to say.

***

The Heart is right to cry.

Even when the smallest drop of light,
of love,
is taken away.

Perhaps you may kick, moan, scream
In a dignified
Silence,

But you are so right
to do so in any fashion

Until God returns
to you.

--Hafiz

Your wife remains with you and your children.
My mother died when I was a child. My father did not help us try to remember her. Please don't make that mistake. Remind your children what a wonderful mother they had. Try to tell them her story, her past, her family.

I think of you and your children, even though I've never met you.

45. For OMC
I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I
and you are you: whatever we were to each other,
that we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in
the easy way which you always used. Put no
difference into your tone, wear no forced air of
solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we
enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for
me. Let my name be forever the same as it always
was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the
ghost of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as
it always was; there is absolutely unbroken
continuity.

I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, just around the corner..........
All is well.

Canon Scott Holland

Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family OMC. This poem was given to me when my parents passed away. I keep it on the wall in my living room along with their pictures. I got and still get great comfort from it. I hope it does the same for you.

46. Rose Quartz is known as the “Love” stone.

Rose Quartz is the most important stone where areas of the Heart are concerned. It opens the heart to love. Enhances the ability to love others. Brings love and positive energy to any relationship or marriage. Helps bring a sense of self-worth and self-love, and increases self-esteem and self-confidence. Aids one in compassion, forgiveness, and patience.

Balances the emotions and creates a feeling of inner peace and tranquility. Soothes emotional heartache and grief. It is excellent for crisis situations due to its calming and reassuring qualities.

Chakras

Rose Quartz is especially beneficial for the Heart Chakra. It opens the Heart Chakra to all forms of love. It helps initiate true love within the Heart Chakra. Used on the Heart Chakra it helps with emotional release.
