5. You will all be recycled and come back infinite times
Mainly you won't, but there are so many orders of infinity, that once in a great while you will be back. Mainly not as you knew yourself. Sometimes even twice or more in the same universe.

So stop rejoicing and help the cosmic ether fix this problem so we can just be around once. Imagine how your e-mails would build up if you took a billion years to come back.

7. Perhaps not.
I was reading an article recently that said people under 45 today can reasonably expect to live to be 1,000 years old. We're just at the beginning of the biotech revolution, and major advances in longevity are "just around the corner." As advance piles on advance, life expectancy will rise exponentially. In the end, there will probably be no upper limit to the times we can be rejuvenated, rebodied, uploaded, downloaded, cloned and cyborged, so we'll effectively be immortal. Last one to the 101st Century is a rotten egg!!!!

10. Just my luck to be 46 and miss the cutoff!
Fuck! One year away from immortality!

14. I think you'll be fine.
I notice whenever articles like this one are published, the "cutoff age" seems to be suspiciously close to the age of the "futurologist" who's selling the idea in his/her latest book. I seem to remember the guy who wrote this story was about 45.

Ray Kurzweil, perhaps the ultimate "eternal life" merchant, is 60 and reckons he'll be immortal, so that gives hope to quite a few more of us.

21. No, I'll be dead.
So will all those under 45 too. I don't buy the idea, as compelling as the idea is for some people, our technology is nowhere near that level and won't be for an extremely long time (if ever).

That's okay though. I'm going to throughly enjoy my window of existence.

16. Or we'll all be uploaded into a virtual reality world....
...the size of a shoebox and left to get on with our lives, while the rest of the Universe simply ignores us.

20. Indeed. All this presupposes, of course,...
...that we aren't even now merely a simulation running on some alien "child's" laptop somewhere. He/she/it has decided to turn up the environmental heat on his little human antfarm and is watching to see how we cope.

11. yes... so true
The Hell of It

Roll on thunder shine on lightnin' the days are long and the nights are frightnin'
Nothing matters anyway and that's the hell of it
Winter comes and the winds blow colder well some grew wiser you just grew older
And you never listened anyway and that's the hell of it

Good for nothin' bad in bed nobody likes you and you're better off dead goodbye
We've all come to say goodbye goodbye
Born defeated died in vain
Super destruction you were hooked on pain and tho' your music lingers on
All of us are glad you're gone
If I could live my life half as worthlessly as you
I'm convinced that I'd wind up burning too

Love yourself as you love no other be no man's fool be no man's brother
We're all born to die alone y'know that's the hell of it
Life's a game where they're bound to beat you and time's a trick they can turn to cheat you
And we only waste it anyway and that's the hell of it

Good for nothin' bad in bed nobody likes you and you're better off dead goodbye
We've all come to say goodbye
Born defeated died in vain
Super destruction you were hooked on pain and tho' your music lingers on
All of us are glad you're gone
