I miss having a kitty
Right now this is not the place or time for a cat.

Toddlers and cats do not co-exist peacefully. We are talking Greeks and Turks, Serbs and Croats, Ulster and Sinn Fein.

But I miss having a cat on my lap again while I type at the computer.

2. I might take you up on that offer
Although the poor cat would freak out at the anarchy with two toddlers, one @ 20 mo and one @ 4.5 years.

4. All I have to do now is figure out how to catch them.
I've had to use the, ahem, water gun on them a few times and they are just a little leery of me.

3. Didn't you read
the cat poopbox thread a few days ago?

5. In my experience, having multiple cats
in a toddler household would solve your problem. With more than one cat, the children get distracted and confused as to which cat to pursue, and by the time they fix on the cat, it has already mapped out an escape route. Cats that live with toddlers tend to walk/trot just fast enough to elude a toddler's grasp. Then you have the added bonus of cat in the lap once the kids are in bed.

7. I do have three cats, and a 27 month old son
but I'd catch hell from the 10 year daughter old if I gave any of them away!

One of cats is 14 and HATES small children - only now is she warming up to the older child, primarily because my daughter can now sit still and be quiet. She just bites our son if he gets too rowdy. He's learned fairly quickly which cat he must be very careful around!
