Somebody just shoot me already.
Please. :grr:

Migraine headaches, back spasms, tremors in my hands, stabbing pain in my feet, knees and back, lightheadedness, lions and tigers and bears, oh my.

Damn it, I need to concentrate to get my work done. I really, truly hate days like this.

Now that I have that momentarily out of my system, please tell me about what a good day you are having.
Please convince me that today is really a very nice day.

I'm on the low end of a cycle right now, so everything's going to be tough for a few days. I'm very glad it's happening now, though. Better now than later this week. Next weekend WILL be a wonderful weekend.

4. My dear ThomCat...
Oh, sweetie...

I hate like anything to see you having a really bad day...

My day is OK so far...

But I haven't really done anything of note yet...

It's going to be a lazy, pointless sort of day...

Unless I manage to light a fire under my useless ass!

Feel better, sweetie....

I'm so hoping you will...

I don't feel any rain coming, but I could be wrong.

I used to love walking in the rain. It was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. That, and walking in the fog. I would absolutely love to be able to enjoy those things again.

As long as it's non-alcoholic. :)

I know people who combine alcohol with painkillers. There are days I'm very tempted to try it. But I either too smart or too cautious to try it.

I'm buried in icepacks and hotpacks. I use the hotpacks on my back and hands, and alternate the hotpacks and icepacks everywhere else. Come on over, I'll share the icepacks with you over those drinks.

Have you ever tried Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) or Acupuncture? You are probably under the care of a M.D. but apparently you are not get the relief you want or need.
Let me know if you want to discuss TCM or compare it to the care of a MD.

I have (at this moment) 5 doctors. I've tried acupressure, not acupuncture. It used to work amazingly well for me. But it doesn't anymore. So all I'm using right now is modern medicine.

21. Gorgeous day today
October is Florida's reward for making it through June, July, August and September.

Sorry you're hurting, sweetie. I've been there. Seriously, get in touch with your doctor: there's a lot that can be done for chronic pain these days. My doctor has me on a med that's reduced my weekly just-shoot-me migraines to manageable levels. Meditation, mild exercise and conscious relaxation take care of what's left.

In the meantime, here's a hug.

23. I have a vivid memory
of being in Florida on business the week before Christmas one year, wearing shorts and a t-shirt and sweating in December. I can't imagine that October is cool enough to be comfortable. :P

I definitely have doctors involved. I've already taken the migraine med, the pain med, the muscle relaxant, and the anti-histame to counter the itchies from the painkiller. I'm doing my best to not be overmedicated.

But, Damn, they're not helping much today. :(

30. That's South Florida, undoubtedly.
They've had 90+ temps when I was down there in January. Here in North Florida, we do get some seasonal variation. Today it's in the low eighties, but with a nice breeze. Tomorrow it could get unbearably hot and humid again, though. By November, I can count on consistently nice weather - at least until global warning really gets going.

The med I'm on is not for acute pain. It doesn't do squat for me if I'm actually hurting. It's a preventative: an anti-depressant that raises the pain threshold if taken daily. Some anticonvulsant drugs work similarly.

I'm sure your doctors are working on it, but sometimes it takes several tries to find the right one.

That sounds like a nice place to hang out. :)

I can feel the painkillers working. I'm getting all itchy despite the antihistamenes. I may be trading one torment for another. x(

Ah well. Better to be scratching and pulling out my hair than living in agony. I once pulled out half of one eyebrow by the time the itching stopped. It was quite a fashion statement for a few weeks. :P

I'm already writing off today as "one of those !@#$%&* days." At this point, my hope is that tomorrow will be a good day.

screwed up pretty badly this weekend and ended their season. One of my coworkers is upset that I find their mourning for a sports team vaguely amusing. :P

I would love to be home in bed right now, buried under hotpacks and cats. But my boss is out of the office, I'm in the middle of several projects, and I'm already taking off on Friday. So I don't dare leave early today.

I'll probably be here late tonight. I won't be able to deal with the rush hour crush, so I'll wait until after rush hour (after 7:30) to go home. And that will give me enough time to maybe get a days worth of work done today.

I've had a rather weird (and sleep-deprived) weekend... so my normal brain functions have been pretty much on hold the last couple of days. The only functioning parts of my brain were the sarcasm and snarky parts, so I think I've been peppering the lounge with nothing but witty one-liners the last day or two. I'll have to check My DU and look at my posts to see how many... I don't even remember half of them. :)
