3. Yay! I've never understood why people who love good food
smoke. It seems like you wouldn't be able to taste anything.

Reward yourself truly enjoying some good food at some good restaurants. :)

5. Congratualtions, chimpsrsmarter.
Stay strong. You CAN do it.

I quit 13 years ago and hopefully most of the damage done by nicotine has reversed itself.

9. Congratulations!
I'm on day 27. I'm using Chantix which had cut down the cravings - though doesn't help with the habit, but that's getting better too.

11. have you noticed the way tastes now? My coffee is really awful so i'm thinking i may just
try and switch over to tea. I had some ben and Jerry's sorbet last night, it was blueberry, blackberry and lemon and i swear to god it was the best tasting stuff ever.

13. I'm drinking more tea rather than coffee
and I've noticed other things taste differently - some not as good as I thought though perhaps that will change once my taste buds adjust.

I was in to see my periodontist about two weeks after I quit (the appointment was schedule 6 months ago) and he warned me that my gums might get a bit puffy due to increased blood flow but that might last just a couple days. He also said that all the quit smoking advice that says to quit the day you get your teeth cleaned is wrong. If possible you should have them cleaned a week or so after you quit, especially if you're prone to perio problems.
