Been feeling antsy for about two months now. Mine is a kind of profession that you absolutely must take time off from, and for. Dancers, djs, bouncers/floormen; and even if you are a good manager (whatever; never seen that in my 13 years exp.; just assuming at this point). I've been gone for about three/almost four years. Loooong time in this area.
Girding my loins for the fray, as it were. I'm well past what some people consider 'prime'; but in my estimation of the business and what it has developed into lately; this will actually be an asset. The customers are damn sick and tired of dumbass 19-22 year old girls who aren't really grown up yet. I read a study posted somewhere on DU some months ago saying that research says people aren't really out of adolescence until age 28 or so. Have to say I quite agree..most of the time. Of course there are always exceptions.
I do absolutely love my job. I get to hear music of all sorts; dance, drink, and even sometimes meet absolutely fascinating people (such as many are here!) and have very interesting conversations about the basic ins and outs of human nature...all without the final expense of a college degree! ( I did not graduate, but went for three years). And also get my Leo need for attention filled without going to stupid extremes. No nine to five; can usually ignore the asshole boss; and the advantage of having been at the same home club for 13 years gives me quite a bit of leeway.
Oh, and I've never done coke. That always helps. NOT that I care if someone does. Just get tired of the assholes it seems to make out of most people. I seriously admire those that can keep their head and indulge. Kudos.
So i've gotten most of the cellulite gone; without working out!! (lazy me); and my tan (fake lotion now) hair and nails are ready to go. Five and six inch heels broken in well. New dresses. (LONG ones-booty shorts make me puke). Not scared of a damn thing or anyone, either. What are they going to do, FIRE me? HA HA HA!!
Can't wait to use my body to move to all that wonderful music. To lose myself in it......to feel the power of the goddess in and all around. To translate that to another person..without a word. ;)
Watch out world. This old stripper is comin' for ya.
