Note to self: NEVER, EVER buy anything off TV again.
:yoiks: I did it again---I saw an interesting product (makeup, of course) and got suckered into ordering it. Although it's not quite as crappy as some of the stuff I'd ordered in the past, it's not all that great AND most of the products in the kit are made---where else?---in China. :grr:  Every time I've ordered something like this, it's been a disappointment, and I've returned what I bought. Same thing is happening this time. I'm only out the shipping and handling charge, but that still sucks. :(

Next time I am tempted to buy something like this, I'm gonna post here and get you guys to talk me down. :P

4. No, it was a mechanical cookie syringe thingie...
I thought I might need to stuff some pasta. Never know when you'll
need to stuff pasta.

I only ordered one... They billed me for (and sent) 10.

*sigh* On the bright side... X-mas for the family and friends was taken care of. :)

9. It's a disease
My sister has been addicted to QVC for at least 20 years now. She has more godawful ugly jewellry and kitchen gadgets than I don't know what.

My daughter got addicted to infomercials when she was about 16. She had insomnia and she'd click on her tv in the middle of the night and watch these things - I knew we were in trouble the morning she burst into my room, with eyes as big as saucers and said, "Mom! We NEED a Wonder Mop!"

11. That reminds me of my mom
One day i went to visit my parents and I was watching their TV. It was one of those big screen TVs and I noticed some anomaly in the bottom corner and it looked like numbers burnt into the screen. I ask what it was and my father turns to me and says "That's the phone number for Home Shopping club"..LOL

She watched it so much that the phone number (which was always in the same place) had burnt itself into the screen. I kid you not..lol

13. The thing is, I don't pay any attention to HSN or QVC or anything like that.
I never order from them. It's always some stupid infomercial, usually either skin care or makeup. :P When I get it, I'm disappointed, I send it back, and I get my money back. This was probably the sixth time in ten years, but you think I'd have learned by now. :P

22. that stuff is amazing
I have the concealer, my best friend has everything of theirs she can get (Sephora carries it, TV buying ain't my thing.) It seems to be really worth the money. Along with that "Dr. Brandt" stuff... it's hard to find things actually worth what they want, but I'd pay more for it.

Or would my money be better spent on the "Girls Gone Wild" DVD's?

20. THE EGGSTRACTOR!! and I also bought 1 of those car window fan things
When we watch TV my wife will anticipate and just say NO! just as I am about to say "Hey you know...."

I did the car window thing without her knowing. It had.... uh less than exemplary performance results.

I did buy my first album off TV-The Best of Creedence Clearwater Revival a really crappy K-tel version that had echos on one of the tracks.

BTW- no matter what my wife says THE EGGSTRACTOR DOES WORK!

23. Avoid all beachbody.com products!!!!
I tried one of their DVD series - and the charges just kept coming and coming, despite the fact that I'd said "NO" to every one of them. Magazines, website subscriptions, minerals, additional DVDs - it's a racket!!!!

24. Note to all: Do not, under any circumstances, order a Bender Ball
They keep sending you DVDs and supplements and charging your credit card whether you want them or not. It's been a real nightmare to deal with these people.
