5. Her name was Nichelle, not Michele
I wonder how they got that wrong. This is very strange for a tv star to model dominatrix boots for a cheap catalog. Maybe she was modelling before she got the Star Trek gig?

7. The Disco era was very hard on the Trekkers...
Bill.... was singing..... his.... songs. etc.

But, the number at the top corner (10/75) might not be a date.

8. Piano man, Piano Man, PIANO MAN!!!
Edited on Sat Sep-22-07 08:45 AM by HamdenRice
Didn't Shatner sing a demented version of Piano Man in which he ended up screaming like a maniac?

Funny thing about the pic is that from the extremely bulky bikini and Nicole's very young face, my guess is that this may have been taken in the early 1960s before she became famous.

She was probably just a young nobody, modelling to pay the rent. This is definitely fetish wear, and I can't imagine an established star doing this. Probably after she became famous, someone discovered the pic and decided to exploit it by labelling it.

This has happened to so many women -- Madonna and Vanessa Williams, to name just two.

On edit: I don't think the 10-75 refers to the date it was taken, but if it does, as Emily Litella would say, "never mind."

12. Between the cancellation of ST: OS and the first film, casting
opportunities weren't exactly rolling in for the crew.

"Didn't Shatner sing a demented version of Piano Man in which he ended up screaming like a maniac?"

He did an album which has to be heard to be believed. So did Nimoy. As said, not a good time for the folks.

13. Nimoy did a musical special during the "interregnum"
Edited on Sat Sep-22-07 12:54 PM by HamdenRice
All I remember about it was him sitting on a big rock on the beach, some dancers and the last line of his original song being "and then you can't find a parking spot?"

16. Nope, it was Mr Tambourine Man! Mr Tambourine Man! MR TAMBOURINE MAN!!!
He also did "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds".

I have an original LP of "The Two Sides of Leonard Nimoy". You just haven't lived until you've heard him sing "If I Were a Carpenter" or "Love of the Common People" or "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins". I keep it in the same place as my Ethel Merman disco album.

Edited on Sat Sep-22-07 09:00 AM by Prag
I don't have to worry about those boots walking all over me.

Looks like she may not make it across the room.

"These Boots are Made for Walking" - Nancy Sinatra

You keep saying you got something for me
Something you call love but confess
You've been a'messin' where you shouldn't 've been a'messin'
And now someone else is getting all your best
Well, these boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you

You keep lyin' when you oughta be truthin'
You keep losing when you oughta not bet
You keep samin' when you oughta be a'changin'
What's right is right but you ain't been right yet
These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you

You keep playing where you shouldn't be playing
And you keep thinking that you'll never get burnt (HAH)
Well, I've just found me a brand new box of matches (YEAH)
And what he knows you ain't had time to learn
These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you

SPOKEN

Are you ready, boots?
Start walkin'

15. I'm sending that one to my friends.
We actually saw her at a Star Trek convention in Oklahoma City about fifteen years ago. She hadn't really aged well. That convention was one of the great disappointments of my life. It was more or less a flea market for old Star Trek merchandise.
