Do cfl bulbs work in those fixtures that automatically go on at dusk?

Or would that be like using them in dimmer switches or other places where you're not supposed to? I'm thinking of getting one of these things for my porch light.

1. They work fine there,

they get the full voltage, the sensor is just a complicated switch. My uncle swears by them.

3. A photosensor is just a light activated switch

should work fine

In my industry we use 'em for neon, LEDs, fluorescent, HID blah blah blah
