My mom just went off on me for signing my real name
to political tracts.

She may be right. She's in her mid seventies, and one of the smartest people I've ever known. I got really mad but had to back up and think about it. I don't want to upset her or cause her grief in any way. Hell, she already had to deal with me as a teenager. lol

But she made a good case for being careful after the Patriot Act was passed. I've never heard her talk this way before.

1. Well, I side with you some in this scenario
It's not like they could not find out who you are anyway - and IF dems win the White House and keep all the powers bush has now, well then you might just be on the A-List :)

3. It was just weird. I've never known my mom to back off
of anything. And she was mad at me for signing my name. It was sort of flabbergasting.

I lamely tried to reassure her by pointing out I have a big dog.

6. She may have a very profound point there, IMO.
In this day and age, the gestapo will stoop to any new low to get us. There is no low they will not stoop too. Sounds to me like she's a good mom, looking out for ya. to your mom.

8. There's no way I could ever discount my mom's opinion.
I know my mom. She's a smart woman. So.
