Exercise unleashes a bounce bras can't handle
Breasts fly up and down a distance of up to 8 inches, study says

By Jeanna Bryner
Updated: 11:45 a.m. CT Sept 11, 2007

Whether women are said to be flat-chested or big-busted, ordinary bras fall short when it comes to supporting bouncing breasts, a new study claims.

And during exercise, women's breasts bounce more than previously estimated, moving a vertical distance of up to around eight inches compared with a past maximum measurement of six inches.

During walking exercise, the women's breasts moved relatively the same amount in all directions. But when participants sped up to a jog or run, their breasts moved proportionally more in some directions than others: More than 50 percent of the total movement was in the up-down direction, 22 percent side-to-side and 27 percent in-and-out.

The overall pattern of the movement resembled a figure-8.

-----------------------------------------------------

Most interesting thing I learned all day: A pair of D-cup breasts weighs about 15 to 23 pounds.

DD-Damn!!! :bounce: :bounce:

edit: To add link.

2. Have you not witnessed the joy of Jogging Season?
Edited on Tue Sep-11-07 08:34 PM by JVS
In Spring, just when the weather is starting to get warm, but it isn't so hot that nobody but the most dedicated runner would run in it, there is a period when around college campuses many young women will go out for some jogging to get in shape. Often they have put on a little weight over the winter, which adds to the boobage, and they also frequently are not experienced joggers, which means that their strides are not so smooth (or better yet they wear inadequate support) and there is more bouncing because of that. For a few weeks you can see them jogging and enjoy all the lovely bouncing, and then either it gets warmer, they've reached their goal, or they don't feel like jogging, and they're gone for they year. Part of the beauty of the seasons, and a good time to visit your local park.

8. No. But let it be known that this is a season of the year that I observe as strictly as Lent
My brother and I once spent a day driving around the city during jogging season. "ohhh, look at that!" "there's another there!"
It puts birdwatching to shame

9. You can't live too far ffrom where I am. When the season starts, I'll let you know.
Then you can get yourself to a campus quickly.

If you feel like having an extra dose of fun in the fall, you can set up a cooler and a lawnchair to watch the freshwomen move into the dorms and get in fights with their parents.

isn't that what sports bras are for? So, didn't we already know standard bras do not suffice? What an idiotic study.

30. well there was time before the sports bra was invented
then your only option was to wear two bras or jog with your hands sort of pushing in to kind of keep the girls in place

maybe younger women have never even once exercised without a sports bra, i dunno, didn't think of that

but still if the sex is sufficiently athletic...then you would have to figure it out unless the woman in question wears a sport bra to bed too (doubtful)

Seriously, after you've had a baby it gets way worse. I've been trying to find a good sports bra to keep the girls corraled. It's just a LOT of weight on your chest. Still trying though I want to give up.

46. Your gf is not wearing a properly fitted bra
God forgive me for knowing this but I do -- I have several large chested gals in my life and I have seen the bra fitting episodes of Oprah....

Anyway, the main support should be the strap around the torso. If there are marks on the shoulders than there is not enough support from the bottom band.

Anyway, tell her to get professionally fitted. It makes a difference.

36. most sports bras fall short too
I've only found one that keeps my girls in place. It's called Enell. It looks more like a vest than a bra. It's got about 10 hooks that work in the front instead of the back.

And yes, it's motionless. Hell, I can't even slouch in this thing.

But my DDs haven't given me a black eye yet... not while jogging, not while on the StairMaster, not at all.

BTW... they're EXPENSIVE, but if you don't put them in the dryer, they last a long time. I wear mine 2 to 3 times between washings, being sure to hose it down w/ Fabreeze on the days it doesn't get washed.
