Oh, VOMIT, there's a Bush banner run on my Opera browser.
Here's what it looks like: there's a picture of W looking presidential, speaking in front of some rocks. The ad looks like a poll, with three "options": Lower taxes, more jobs, and lower interest rates. Of course, you can't select any of those. It's just a giant link to the RNC website. At the bottom of the advert, it says "Show your support of the president's success and learn more about the future. CLICK HERE"

We must have different feelings about what constitutes success. You know, to me, a terrorist attack, an economy that is still in the shitter, an illegal and unwarranted invasion of a foreign country under false pretenses, and systematically alienating the rest of the world doesn't spell success. It spells MASSIVE FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP.

2. Ew. That's worse. But I have to look at this until the ad changes.
I could just buy the full version, but that costs money, which is something I don't have.

6. I don't know Opera, so I can't answer that, but
Mozilla has everything I want. Cookie & popup blocking per-site, tabbed browsing, even the e-mail program is good.

7. A few...
like the fewer keyboard commands, slower page loading, better Javascript handling, no personal or history bars... The latest Moz may have some more stuff, but I haven't installed it yet.

Mozilla is great, but I'm used to some of the unique Opera features. Once in a while, I use Moz when a page doesn't display right in Opera, but that's rare. I have a 20" monitor set at high resolution, so I hardly see the banner and the extra windos don't take up much space. All the buttons, bars, and windows could be a mess on a smaller monitor.

Mozilla as a suite won't be around much longer. Mozilla.org has been mumbling about Firebird, Phoenix, etc. being better as standalone programs, and that's where the development is going. I've got the latest Firebird downloaded, but haven't used it yet. I've heard mixed reviews, but but mostly good stuff about it.

5. Have you tried "slimbrowser"?
I use it and I like it better than any of the other browsers I have tried, including opera. I don't have any banner ads on it either but, I have it set to open to DU.

8. Pay those nice Norwegian prgrammers their 40 bucks and
the ads go away. They put together a damn good product, their price is reasonable, and they deserve the support for continuing in the face of 'free' browsers.
