Mozart's 1st Piano Concerto.
Listening now. It's been way too long, since this is certainly one of my favorite classical pieces.

First time I heard it was when I saw Elvira Madigan many many years ago. I'm sure hearing it while viewing that beautiful film made a special impression.... the second movement is just so gorgeous and sublime. In some ways, I wish everyone could experience hearing this piece for the first time the same way, but since the film is rarely seen anymore, that is surely rare.

Does anyone have a favorite recording? I only have one by Barenboim I think, on vinyl somewhere, probably in storage, and I'm looking for more.

1. My dear speedoo!
I have so many favorite classical recordings, I hardly know where to start...

And I also have trouble remember the names of the works that I do love...

I'm sure I've heard the Mozart you're talking about...

But right now I can't hear it in my mind's ear, alas...

:hi:

2. Ah, my dear Peggy!
I am certain you have heard it, and when you hear it again, I would be honored if you might think of me!:loveya:

These days, I need all the beauty I can find, and that madcap Wolfie wrote some beautiful tunes.

Now, I am listening to a wonderful recording of his arias. Digital music is one of the great things about the internet!

3. His Piano Concerto No. 20 in D-minor (At least, I think it's D) is incredible.
One of my favorites. The other big one being his Mass in C-minor. Stunningly sublime piece of music.

4. Thanks, Aristus.
I will have to give them a listen soon. I think I've heard both but I won't know until I listen.
