5. An old fat guy who was out of control in the early '70s but grumpy now
That IS a nice outfit, and wow. Reminds me of 1974, and that third party of the night with the beautiful girl on the porch dressed as a nun who went for me, and we . . .

Um, I am not likely going as anything much this year, like the last 20. Thanks for bringing it up, though (stop it!).

7. V
Well, actually, as I'm female and larger than Hugo Weaving, I'm going to be one of the unnamed Londoners who wore the mask and cape.

Still, I'm memorizing this speech, just because...

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

If I can get through it once on Hallowe'en, it'll just be icing on the cake, as it were.

I used to kinda dress as a witch but I felt silly doing it, my hubband just laughed at me. But I decorate the porch with nice spiders and bats and I light some candles and wear extra make-up :headbang: Halloween's my favorite.. the dressing up, the scary decorations.. Christmas is silly compared.

I bought this bodice:

I bought a chemise from a seamstress, and I have some awesome black leather boots that will look good as pirate boots. All I need now is a pair of pirate pants or some skirts. I've got lots of pirate jewelry and scarves too.

49. I've thought about this a lot, and I've noticed a gender disparity.
A great many costumes for women are "sexy," but NO costumes for meb are "sexy." There's "Sexy Nurse," "Sexy Maid," "Sexy Pirate," "Sexy blah blah blah."

So I've decided that in solidarity, this year, I'm going to be "Sexy Hitler." :patriot:

Edited on Fri Sep-14-07 12:14 AM by calipendence
... I think I need to pay homage to him as a superhero coming to our rescue!

Using the video clip of him as the "Green Solution" from this site:

http://www.challengeofthesuperduperfriends.com/

I'd like to try and put together a costume like that. I was thinking of trying to find a Green Lantern costume and deck it up a bit with a mask and logo, etc. but there doesn't seem to be too many adult sizes...

I found one "custom spandex" site that already has a packaged "Green Lantern" costume, but it seems a bit pricey, and probably has stuff on it that I don't need. I wrote a letter to them saying that perhaps if they "bulk-made" some costumes like the "Green Solution" complete with logo and mask that we might give them a lot of business. Perhaps if a few others here wrote them, we might be able to get this to happen!

http://www.spandexwear.com/product.php?productid=16195&cat=265&page=1

And I suppose if you have another pol you're pulling for in this election, here are some other costumes you might want to try and get as your "super hero"...

John Edwards...

Barak Obama...

Hillary Clinton...

Sorry, it looks like Dennis K. isn't in this one!
