1. The poster asks for so many blessings and protections
it sounds like a threat letter. Maybe Ashcroft should investigate them.

5. Yikes!
Man is that scary. Margaret Atwood wrote a book called the Handmaid's Tail all about fundalmentalist wierdos who took over the US some time in the future. Don't let it happen, pleeeeease.

If Bush is not Satan himself he is someone very close.

That bastard dares use christianity as an excuse to invade, pillage and plunder.

7. George Carlin asked whether or not prayer went against "Gods Plan"
and i agree with him. Prayer presupposes the praying person can change the mind of god. If god is omniscient, omnific, omnipresent and omnibenevolent, if he is indeed all knowing of all things, then he already knows whether or not he is going to, for instance, make Air Force One Crash horribly, whilst miraculously sparing all aboard except.....well...you get the drift. Why pray to god to ask him to do things that he must already know will happen? Supposing you can change gods mind in this way makes the prayer more of a heretic than i am!

When i hear folks that lived near the path of a tornado or a hurricane that just killed their neighbors say things like "It was gods will that we were spared" i say "NO!! it looks like god was trying to kill you and MISSED!!!!!!"

16. When I was back there in Seminary School,
There was a person there who put forth the proposition
That you can petition the Lord with prayer
Petition the Lord with prayer
Petition the Lord with prayer...
You cannot petition the Lord with prayer!

18. Is it just me, or do some of those people seem to orgasm over a mere
picture of Shrub? Looking at that thread was almost surreal. The one that had a photo of him getting on board AF1 with the post "Dubya is on the way home. Dinner at 6 PM at the White House tonight for sure!" is enough to make any sane person wonder if the poster has a life outside of mentally slathering over the prospect of buffing the Presidents backside.

Every time i hear he has gone somewhere i want to yell 'GET THE FUCK OFF OUR AIRPLANE, YOU DIPSHIT!" but, alas, it is his to use, at our expense ($70,000 per hour AT LEAST) for the rest of his term. I would suggest Dean or Kerry or Edwards find a 747 sized Autoclave to sterilize the damned thing once Shrub has had his obligatory farewell flight. (Yes, i know there are two identical 747's. Clean BOTH thoroughly)

12. "Consult the Book of Armaments."
Brother Maynard: Armaments, chapter two, verses nine through twenty-one.
Cleric: And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths, and carp and anchovies, and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit-bats and large chu...
Brother Maynard: Skip a bit, Brother...
Cleric: And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.
Brother Maynard: Amen.
All: Amen.
King Arthur: Right. One... two... five.
Galahad: Three, sir.
King Arthur: Three.

20. What makes me puke so much...
is not that they pray for the man - I, too, pray for our national leaders, that they have wisdom, make good choices, do justice, show mercy, yada yada yada, no matter who the leader is...

But I am **CONVINCED** that when the president is a democrat, these *@*%()@^# only offer prayers of hatred and abuse. "Please God, forgive our sins, and take this president away from us, as a nation we repent for our sins that you felt the need to give us such a demonic president. We know, Lord, that we have erred - give wisdom to the sinners of this country who have met your wrath that makes us all suffer" etc. etc. etc.

That's what really sickens me, the way they equate republican with "God is being gracious to us" and democrat with "God is punishing us", and will never ask for actual blessings or guidance or clarity of thought for a democratic leader.
