So you sit across from me. The same crooked smile that I fell in love with so many years before. The dimples that made me think of simple times in simple places that I had never seen.
My midwestern boy with the midwestern heart.
The fleeting touch of hands on a neon lit stairway that drew me in like a warm fire on a cold winter
night...
I felt you from the tip of my toes to the bottom of my soul. You were the reason that reason excisted and I loved you from that moment. It wasnt a kiss nor was it a physical act... It was the light like a full moon that shone from your eyes when you saw me in the morning that made
me love you.
I danced in your silver glow like only true lovers can do and I embraced the unknown like the vast desert during a rainstorm.
We have created mesas and canyons but we always find the highest point.
The branches of our life stretch like the strongest limbs and we know without care they can break at the weakest knots.
May we always see the forest before the trees..
P.S. I dont write much nor do I post much. This is just a short simple poem about my husband. Hope you you like it. If you dont thats fine as well. :)
