I feel like I've been run over by a truck.
:( :yoiks: I crawled out of bed this morning after the worst two weeks of work that I've ever had. I put in 82 grueling hours the first week and 75 hours this past week. You haven't seen me much during that time because I was untangling a web of incompetence (yet again) foisted on the office by my predecessor, and it was the opening of school. Of all the schools where I've worked over the past 21 years (5 besides the one I'm working for now), I have never seen such a chaotic opening. What could have been accomplished in two busy days was dragged out over a painful week (the one where I put in 82 hours).

It's not completely over yet, but I'm taking today and tomorrow for myself, dammit. :bounce: My apologies to Loungies who sent me PMs and have not gotten a response yet. I'm working on them! :)

4. sounds like a spa day to me! Seriously, can you go do these things:
have a manicure and pedicure or
maybe get a long over due haircut or
a massage? or
or a facial? ....
a lovely quiet lunch with a good friend in a place you would not normally go
or
at least a long hot soak in your own tub with some good bath salts, a cup of good coffee or tea Or a glass of wine depending on time of day and preferences...

go see a movie you have wanted to see

for me any of those would be ideal, and I have been in your same situation...days and days of hard work, unrelieved, it is like your body says every day it is holding on until you tell it that it's OK to take it down a notch, then once you do that, you CRASH!

24 hours of uninterrupted sleep is often welcomed, but don't leave out the hot soak!

Twice in my life when I have had an intensely busy extended period, I ended up spiking a fever when I finally let down. Fatigue fever is what my mom called it. Interestingly both of these occasions were things I was doing voluntarily, not job related, but both involved up early, on feet all day and never stopping, lots of people and work (good work, fun work, but still physical) and up late at night with very few naps. Major crash at the end. Would I do them both again? Absolutely, two of the best weeks of my life, but I would try to get a little more sleep in there.

Enjoy your two days of YOU time. And tell us what you did to recuperate.

5. Good for you, taking some time for yourself.
Invite your stable of studs over to entertain you for a few days, relax, and forget about work.

What? Surely you have a stable of studs!

I'm sure some of the guys here in the lounge would volunteer. :7
