Firstly, I blame all this on a fellow DUer who had a link to a "free file hosting" blog. ;-) Most of the free file hosting places were pretty much like YouTube. Anyway, so I'm browsing through one of them and I come across a video marked "Girl With Tourettes Flips Out".
And for my sins,
I watched it. Suitable for all audiences, or at least those in the Lounge.
Girl With Tourettes Flips Out (scroll down a bit to see the video)
Now I've only seen video of one other person with Tourette's and it was part of a documentary about developmental disabilities. Honestly I can't remember much except at one point the teenager afflicted was basically on the edge of weeping as his mouth let go with some awful words while his entire family, including grandparents, were at the dinner table.
Anyway, this clip appears to be from some sort of...I dunno, something like you'd see on Discovery Health Channel (
Is there such a thing?).
The young lady in this video doesn't appear to be suffering from Tourette's Syndrome as much as just having a nasty disposition. BUT, if I was growing up with such a disability, I...I dunno how I would have turned out.
SO the question is, if you're bored enough to watch it- and it will certainly entertain you in some sense, does this girl really have Tourette's Syndrome or is she faking it?
ONEDIT Apparently this is from some MTV show called
"True Life | I Have Tourette's Syndrome". From the site:
Approximately one out of every 200 Americans suffers from a neurological disorder which causes people to have involuntary body movements and vocal outbursts. Known as Tourette syndrome, the affects people of any age and has no known cause or cure. In this episode of True Life we meet three individuals whose Tourette's controls - and sometimes ruins - their lives.
1 in 200? What the fuck?!
1 in 200?!? That alone explains GD!
