I have not actively pursued dating anybody since I was a junior in college (so, about 3 1/2 years ago) because I see little point in getting my hopes up, thinking about something too much, and being crushed. I did enough of that in high school and early college, and it's too tiring.

I am still trying online dating but it doesn't seem to be working. I guess I am too old now (39) to be attractive to anyone younger than my grandfather. I am lonely enough that I might actually go for some of the older ones, so long as they have a sailboat or something fun. I am kidding (sort of).

I've tried the online dating thing now and then. Got a good friend out of the deal once. Got a month of on-and-off sex out of it once. That's it. What I really need is to get off the damn night shift so I can actually be awake when everyone else is. That, and earn enough money that I can actually go out and meet people. It doesn't cost much... but when you can't even afford to waste the gas to drive...

:shrug: I have sort of an off-again, on-again relationship with someone who lives 700 miles away (pretty much it's only off-again because of the distance factor; if we lived closer to each other I'm pretty sure we'd still be together for real), but at the moment we're not dating. About two years ago he said that if things were still good between us on New Year's Day of 2009, he'd ask me to marry him...but that's a long way off, and we haven't talked in a while so I don't know what the situation is. Color me confused (and a little lonely), I guess. :shrug:

recently ended my first long-term relationship in years.

It'll be interesting trying to find another woman who's secure enough not to be threatened by my photographic work with nude models... perhaps a model would be the obvious choice? If I can find a blind one. :)
