Is it right for me to still feel down?
Edited on Sun Aug-19-07 09:17 PM by JonathanChance
It's been a little over a week since I got back from London, and well, to say I'm still feeling down. Sure seeing my family again after being away for two months was nice, but now, well, I've been somewhat bitter after getting back. The fact that my car is out of commission seems to be compounding things. Hell, over there I didn't even need a car. Now, here, hell, potentail employers will throw your application to the bottom of the pile if they indicate that you take public transportation (unless you live somewhere like New York or San Francisco.)

The fact that all my friends seem to be buzzing and excited to go back to college is eating at me too. They're all looking forward to another fun-filled semester, while all I have to lok forward to is job hunting.

And another thing. I hate job hunting. I hate it with a passion. Interviews are the worst. They always make me so nervous. Plus, I'm not sure where the hell I'm going to be working. I'd like to work here in Wisconsin, so I can go see my college friends once in a while, but jobs in my field are quite slim over here.

3. Yes. You spent months there and it is natural to feel let down.
London is quite an experience, isn't it?

6. Oh, Yeah.
It's nice to be able to get around without driving everywhere.

Then again, where we were located, You'd have to be a millionaire to be able to afford even a small flat there.

5. I've felt the same way about Canada
But I wasn't there nearly as long as you were in London. So I imagine the feelings might be intensified in your case. I used to spend a couple or three days at a time in Canada when I was a long haul trucker and I loved it up there. The only thing keeping me here in the states is my family and friends.

7. Go into job interviews thinking you are interviewing them: will their questions
Edited on Mon Aug-20-07 10:46 AM by applegrove
infer a job you'd like? How professional are they? Are they nice? Is the focus of the work right up your alley? Works for me. I'm not usually nervous during an interview and I'm really retiring.

9. Why would you even ask that?
Do you still feel down? That's all that matters. Feelings are never right or wrong. They just are.
