6. I don't have
a digital so cannot post a picture; however, ask Kaghime to...when you see her nose, you will see mine. Cost? Let's see...3 lemon drops: 7$ 2 beers: $3 1 Longisland Iced Tea: $2 Piercing: $35 The look on my face when I woke up this morning: Priceless  I just have a very small stud (now THERE'S a story!). Too "glittery" for me so once I can change it out, I want to get either an emerald or ruby. A diamond would work also.

I guess I am not to take it out for about 8 weeks, swab it 2x daily, inside and out, rotate often. As for the hoop, I am thinking at 56 the smaller, the better, so no hoop for me, but that is a personal choice.

8. Oh, and as for any pain
I couldn't feel any :P Actually, it was a VERY fleeting sting. I did have to sit for just a few as I felt a bit woozy. I am thinking it was the initial shock to my bod. The guy stated since I had been drinking, it would probably bleed more. I informed him the only thing that would come out would be alcohol...and I was right. It did bleed, but minimally.

5. Cool!

I got mine done June 11th, in Austin Tx. I've been wanting to do it for years, and my "adopted" 19 year old had been wanting to do it too. We decided that we'd do it in Austin (a trip planned mostly for her benefit) and we did, while GOPisEvil was at work. I love it.

FYI - get ahold of a bottle of pure, organic if possible, tea tree oil. If you get a bump around your stud (looking sorta like a pimple) start swabbing it with the tea tree oil post haste. That will make it go away without getting bigger and nastier. I get the stupid bump all the time, the 19 year old has not. I've already accidentally pulled mine all the way out once, ALMOST all the way out 2 or 3 times, and partially out a little more than a handfull of times.

Congratulations! :)

9. I was going to do the same thing after I read about it online ...

But I didn't. Then I got the bump. !!!!! lol

That certainly became a hurried purchase after that. Anyway, this is the kind I got, from Amazon. Currently unavailable it says now though...? Not sure why. It's proved to do the job for me though.

11. Probably.
I live in a tiny mountain town one hour from anywhere, so online was my best option.

Also ... not to be contrary, but I noticed you said you are rotating your jewelry. I would advise against that. Soak it with non-iodized sea salt, but don't rotate it. That causes irritation to the piercing and makes the bump more likely. (the bump is usually the beginning of an infection) You will also probably find that 2 months is not long enough to complete the healing process. It can be somewhat healed at the openings, but the middle will still likely not be healed yet. Because of this I will not be attempting to change out my jewelry until I hit the 6 month mark. The nostril takes a long time to heal completely.

I think the main reason I keep getting the bump is that I have allergies so have to blow my nose a lot. That moves the jewelry around causing it to get irritated. I've also snagged it a few times ... causing the same problem.

If you DO get infected do not remove the jewelry for any reason! It keeps the hole open and allows it to drain.

"My" 19 year old who doesn't have the allergy problem and thus isn't moving her jewelry around all the time has never had the bump problem.

Anyway, I LOVE mine and I'm sure you'll be very happy with it. I forget I have it anymore, and it's only been 2 months.

You can see mine in this picture:

14. It's not her child. It's her housemate.
And you're right, she couldn't have a 19 year old. Well, she COULD, physiologically... ;)

I'll stop before I get into more trouble with my honey. :D

But thank god I don't! lol

Nah ... I kinda call her "mine" because I am fully responsible for her care. She's had a life you couldn't imagine and is in recovery (meth). I let her live with me while she gets emotionally and physically healthy, and learns to be independent. She's made a HUGE amount of progress, but still has a ways to go. She's adorable!

edited to add: This photo was taken in the Jenna Bush Memorial Chuy's in Austin TX. Anyplace that has the balls to bust a Bush for underage drinking is a place I GOTTA visit! :D

18. I would have guessed you about 24 -25 years old by that picture..
I think it's a great thing you're doing for that young lady. From what I've read, and seen, meth is harder to kick than heroin, as it chemically alters the brain. I want to say physically too, but I'd have to go back and check on that before stating it positively. I tried it twice, but didn't like what it did to my body. I did have a 13 year love affair with cocaine though. I quit cold turkey with a $1000 a day habit at the end. I've been clean for 15 years now.

Time, trust and a lot of positive reinforcement will help her in the long run. Keeping her away from her old friends and bad influences is a must. Show her that there is a MUCH better life waiting for her out there in this world, one that she will find worth living for. Meth is just a slow, self imposed death sentence... slow suicide.

You both look very happy and yes, you're both adorable! Both of you have beautiful smiles and beautiful blue eyes

Tell your firend that a former addict is rooting for her and wishing her the best that the world has to offer her..

:hi:

20. I've been blessed.
When I was 16 everyone thought I was 24 - 25. Now that I'm in my 30's people think the same thing. If you're not going to look your age, THAT's the way to do it!

Jenn's done coke too, but she likes crack much better. Meth and Crack are her DOCs - somehow she never did heroin, but she's experimented with many other things. She never slammed dope and says that she thinks that's made it easier to quit. Other IV users that she knows are pretty much permanently screwed up. We were just talking about this the other day ... people in her NA group that were IV users have a lot of serious mental issues now that she hasn't had to deal with. She's very open and we talk about *everything* - often. I know a lot about drug abuse (and how to use) now that I wouldn't know otherwise. My own real world experience has been limited to alcohol, smoke, and fungi.

She celebrated 9 months on the 12th!

Thanks for the compliments, and I will tell her!! She is finally starting to realize that she DESERVES the best the world has to offer so she will appreciate the best wishes! Her family spent most of her life convincing her she was worthless, so she's had some hurdles to get over.

Congratulations on your own sobriety! :yourock:

24. Yeah, that crack is a real monster. I know all about it...
I saw one of my friends crawling on his knees, in tears, begging someone for a hit of crack.. literally crying. This guy was 6'6" & 325 lbs..

I've seen women sell themselves for $5, just to get another hit...

I've lived it and seen it all. I wasn't into needles either. I tried it 2 or 3 times, and I could see how someone could become a junkie real fast. Honestly, the first time I tried it, I loved it so much I swore I'd never do it again because I *would* get hooked on it (shooting up).

I worked at a packing house, and we had anywhere from 80 to 125 trucks a day coming in and I sold a LOT of coke to truck drivers to support my habit. It was nothing for me to sell a half pound of coke a day...

Jenn is lucky to have someone in her life like you. Again, I wish the best in life to you both... keep on doing what you're doing, it looks like it's working...

If you ever need advice or someone to talk to that's been there, please feel free to PM me...

PEACE!

Doug
