Me and my brother are going on a long drive.
After mom died,we decided to move her house to a lake. Her house was in a small town (under 100 people)and every empty house out there got vandalised beyond repair. This will be the first time we go there. It's going to be tough, seeing the house we grew up in,at a strange place. But it's better then the alternative.

5. how far did you have to move it?
Was it a big house? How long did it take to move it???

I heard of moving houses a few blocks but that was a long time ago.

2. Actually it sounds like an ideal situation - old house, fresh new location
A meeting of "remember the past, but continue to move forward." Your mother's spirit and love in a cabin by the lake.

3. Congratulations and sympathies on this milestone of yours.
Really. You and your brother are doing major integration and healing by doing this and foregoing the easier alternative of just letting it go. I salute your courage and sense of adventure.
