61. I sort skittles as well as count them obsessively
I must eat either five at a time or four at a time, with five being the preferred number. Three at a time is acceptable (if the numbers require it), but no more than once per bag. For me the sets do not have to be the same color, but there is a complicated system of rules in place with respect to how many of a given color can be in any set at any one time. I have no idea why I do with this Skittles--other candies I just eat :rofl:

4. Let's see.....
I make up songs and sing them to my dog and my cats.

I put on my Frank Sinatra CD and dance to all the songs like I'm dancing on Broadway (and I sing along with the songs, too). I also do that with my soundtrack to "Anything Goes".

I sometimes get the urge to spiff up the kitchen in the middle of the night.

71. You're cool, SeattleGirl!
One thing I've always done is add my pet's names to songs. My partner caught on, and he does the same thing now.

For the amazing Lana cat;

"Jesus Take the Wheel" became "Lana Take the Wheel"
"Boogie Shoes" became "Lana Shoes"
"99 Red Ballons" became "99 Lana Cats"
(we came up with video ideas for this one)

For Candace the wonder dog (who's main song is "Candy Girl" by New Edition, which I've sung to her since she was a puppy);

"I Want Candy" became "I Want Candace"
"Little Willy" became "Little Candace"
"Sheena is a Punk Rocker" became "Candace is a Punk Rocker"

Television theme songs work, also. When we were watching reruns of "Dynasty" a few years ago, I would sing (helps if you know how it goes) "Candy Girl, and Lana Cat, da DA da da da da etc."

The theme from HBO's Oz worked, too ("Crazy Candace, and Lana Cat...")

78. From an old Paula Poundstone routine:
"A friend of mine says he likes to take the Frosted Chocolate Pop-Tarts, toast them, smash 'em up in a bowl, pour milk on top, and eat them. And I said, 'Fuck it. You might as well cook.' If it takes more than three steps, you're cooking."

9. I like to drink coffee and eat raw apples
a weird habit I developed since I joined Weight Watchers. I eat the apples because they are a damn near perfect snack, and I discovered that having the coffee with them sort of comes out like I am having apple pie.

Pretty strange.

I love raw potatoes, with salt

I put salt on grapefruit, not sugar

I refuse to read a book series out of order, if I can possibly help it.

10. I used to bring limes to school for lunch
Eat them one piece of pulp at a time. Not the peel, though!

I won't touch bathroom-type porcelain - have to shower with flip flops on.

I used to make all my furniture out of things that were meant for other purposes (dining table = birdbath+glass top, shelves made of old skateboards, key/mail thingy on wall out of sheet metal+S hooks+hinges, wall decoration made out of flower pots filled with homemade candles, hung with bungee cords and fence framing)

When I like a song, I'll listen to it literally 30 times in a row. Drove the coworker next to me crazy, as a side benefit ;-)

11. cry at happy stuff
NOT a sad cry. But at stuff like words in songs, when they're really beautiful. Or any time people are being very happy together.. I don't know how to describe it.. I've cried watching how happy the squirrels are eating in the back yard too.
Today I cried watching this Queen Live Aid performance, this video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBUJztI884M. At 2:20 when they show the crowd waving all together, something about gets to me, it's so beautiful.
It happens to me almost every day now, it's kinda embarrassing.

I can't even look at 3:16 where the all throw up their fists :nuke:

Edited on Fri Aug-17-07 12:00 AM by bob_weaver
If you take a packet of Cremora, and hold it about 3 feet above a candle flame, and pour out the powder all at once, so it hits the flame, you will get a huge orange poof of flame in the air in front of you. It has to be plain old Cremora powder, not any sweetened or flavored variety.

68. When playing poker
I HAVE to arrange my chips in such a way that the little marks on the side creates patterns. And usually I need to have a different pattern for each stack of chips.
Which isn't much of a problem, as I tend to lose my chips fairly quickly and run out of stacks... :)

74. I count stairsteps
Can't help myself. I also print everything except my signature because I can't make my script uniform enough to suit me, laminate all common written materials at my job because I can't stand doodling, and have been known to get up in the middle of the night and remake the bed if I'm not comfortable enough.

79. I sing Que Sera Sera
every time I put a bottle of Syrah on the shelf (I run a wine and liquor department).

Sometimes I change it up a bit and sing The Bonnie Blue Flag instead, substituting "Syrah" for the word "hurrah" as in - "Syrah! Syrah! For southern rights, syrah! Syrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star."

I also softly say the word, "Jacob" in a loving tone whenever I put a bottle of Jacob's Creek wine on the shelf (makes me think of my late Boxer, Jake).

I have no idea what my customers think of all this. :silly:

80. I have to touch the skin of the airplane
before I board. I just casually (at least I try to make it look casual) touch the metal as I enter the hatch. I don't recall when I started it, I'm not afraid of flying, I'm not supersticious in anything else (I'm atheist in fact) so I don't know where this comes from.

83. Of course.
And you say (as low as possible): "Please take good care of us."

Then on the way out of the plane you touch it again and say thank you.

84. I once made coffee and tea in the same cup
just to see what it would be like.

In fact, the taste of the tea overpowered that of the coffee, which was the opposite of what I expected to happen.

Oh, and one night when we were getting baked, we put the coffee machine on, but were so impatient we made instant coffee while we waited for the real stuff to brew.

86. I did exactly that the week before last
Edited on Fri Aug-17-07 04:18 PM by YankeyMCC
I was hiking through the Presidential range in NH white mountains and one night at one of the AMC (a regional hiking club in New England) Mountain huts I put poured my coffee into the mug that still held the bag of Chai Tea from the cup of tea I'd just had. It wasn't a mistake I just figured it could only improve the taste of the coffee they serve (great places those huts and good food usually but the coffee :( )

It was pretty good actually.

87. I make up rhymes about just anything
After dog class one night:

"Collies are evil.
Collies are bad.
Collies do things that
make beagles mad.

Beagles are special.
Beagles are good.
Beagles do things
collies NEVER could."

Or, in reference to my two critters' unnatural interspecies fondness for one another:

"Gracie loves Leon.
Leon loves Grace.
They're a good example
for the huma race."

I just go around rhyming all the time.

When I get really anxious or depressed, I head for the knife drawer. It's an annoying habit.

:pals:

it's just one day at a time man, I've known lots of cutters in my life and it's a hard thing to get past, but I also imagine there's a lot of pain behind that too.

I eat the chocolate coating off of Kit Kat bars

I eat the candy coating off of m&m's

I am a bit obsessive about email at work

I think or tortilla chips as merely a vehicle for getting salsa to my mouth, and yes, I've drank salsa before :9

I don't like to step on cracks in the sidewalk if I think about it

I don't like big crowds where I can't move

I know there is more... just can't think of any right now

oh... someone here reminded me of one...rhyming things...

sometimes when I'm hyper or just in a weird mood I will start rhyming and it's like I have to MAKE MYSELF STOP! :D Dr. Seuss?
