I didn't get the job
I am neither surprised nor shocked. I figured I wouldn't get the job. I've been at my job for 10 years now, and it's beginning (beginning??- it should have been clear ages ago) that I will never be promoted here. Time to leave. I've had it up to here with my job and with my employers.

3. Bummer. Sorry.
Still, if you're interested in moving to South Dakota, they start offering jobs if you just mention you might move there. Worth thinkin' about :hi:

4. I'm pretty much a coastal sort of person
I guess that leaves out South Dakota, unless the sea level rise is going to be greater than they are currently predicting.

6. sorry to hear that..
maybe the postition wasn't right for you and you will be better off elsewhere. Anger has pushed me to do some things that seemed stupid at first but turned out all right.

9. well this is about the 10th time I've lost out at my current employer
I am working on a Masters which should help but after 10 years I have all buy given up here. But that's okay- there are other employers out there who might consider me. I just have to look harder than I have been.

7. So, what do you do?
What's the market like in your field?

8. I am a biologist
Well, actually a fish and wildlife technician. But the biologist jobs around here are few and far between and the competition is fierce. I have had 10 interviews in 10 years. The openings usually occur every three or four years and usually there is a lot of reshuffling personnel from one area to another.

I have gone back to school for my Masters but won't finish for a year. That will help but I am not content to just wait until I am finished to apply for stuff.

So the field is generally pretty competitive.

11. Texas is a tough market in your field
Sad but true.

You may have better luck further up the coast, but that requires that you finish your master's first.

I'd grit my teeth and hang on until then.

just MHO.
