Why is it not acceptable to show VPL but ok for bra straps?
First off vpl stands for visible panty line. On some of the fashion shows you would think that if they could give out the death sentence for vpl they would. Yet oddly they say nothing about visible bra lines or straps for that matter.

3. For some reason, visible bra straps bug me
I don't really know why - chalk it up as one more unreasoning pet peeve.

5. Speaking as a guy - I like both
but, I'm sure that answer surprises nobody.

I don't understand why women hate to show panty-lines.

6. VPL is kinda like bad page design
It interrupts the visual flow, like a pull quote with break lines that extend the entire width of the column.

VBS, however, attracts the eye to that area, and that's a good thing.

:silly:

7. Yeah, what is the deal with wanting to hide the fact that *gasp* you wear underwear?
I mean, it's one thing to see a woman wearing ill-fitting flowered underwear under ill-fitting white pants. That's not so flattering. But I wear underwear in an appropriate size under my jeans, also in an appropriate size. Anyone who wants to scrutinize the edge of my underwear that closely can kiss my ass while they're down there.

I'll take vpl ANY DAY over a thong giving me a 24/7 grundy. Yuck.

Bra straps don't really bug me in a casual situation, but not at work or somewhere else more formal.

The double standard is weird. And one of the reasons why I hate those fashion shows. I wouldn't mind if they just helped the person find flattering clothes that fit that person's style, but they just make everyone look like little clones.

8. I was watching QVC the other day and....
they had this underwear (I wan't call it a panty) that was flesh tone and loooong. It ran from just above your knee to your bra. This was to eliminate vpl. I could just imagine how hot I would be wearing this thing in August in Texas. Not to mention the workout you'd get just taking a piss.

9. Classically it's not OK to show bra straps
It's tacky. If you've got outer clothing that is to skinny or nonexistant there to cover a bra strap, that's what strapless bras are for.

12. Strapless bras don't work for us well endowed gals.
It's kind of like holding up the Grand Tetons with a rubber band.

Never going to happen.

It's not like they make super cute bras for us either.

13. I am well-endowed
and I wear strapless on occasion. I've also worn boustieres too.

True, a strapless won't hold you up the same way as a regular bra, but it's still better. The other thing you can do is x-back, especially w/ sleeveless Ts.

14. You're lucky.
I've never met a strapless bra that didn't fold on me like a cheap suit. Which is frustrating as hell, btw. :grr:

I don't ever wear anything sleeveless.

My straps always poke out around the collarbone area and mostly when I wear v-necks.

15. I remember when a woman was upset if her slip showed.
Nowadays it's a freakin' Fruit of the Loom and Bali show, for all I can tell. I've even seen young guys walking down the street with their pants falling down (boxers on full display) as they went.

I'm too old for this stuff.
