I'm sad and depressed today :(
It isn't like me to complain. There are a whole lot of people out there with much bigger problems than me and I try to remind myself of that and be thankful for what I have every day.

But, over the weekend, I came to the conclusion that I have to give up my pickup truck. The price of everything has outpaced my "cost of living" raises at work and the payments and insurance on the truck are just killing us to try and keep up. I'm too far upside down on it at the moment to sell it, so at the end of the month, back to the finance company it goes. :(

I love that truck, I'm gonna miss it....

1. I'm sorry
maybe you'll get another vehicle you like just as much... more affordable.

4. thanks
that's what I'm going to do, find an old truck that I can maybe pay cash for in a few months from now so I'll have something to pull my trailer with when I need to.

2. I can feel your pain somewhat...
I own a large SUV and the gas is higher than a car payment now.

6. I have the advantage of owning the vehicle (12 years old)...
but the gas is getting to be way too high. I am going to have to park it and get a small car.

8. I have a 12 year old car
that I own outright, and I have a motorcycle that has been a godsend with these gas prices. I guess I should be thankful I can get around as well as I can....

9. I think I will just use the Bronco to tow and as a hunting truck...
and get a small car. I have also wanted to get a motorcycle.

With gas down from 3.50 to 2.70, a full tank costs me 26.00 less.

10. I hear ya
towing and some occasional hauling is the only thing I really need a truck for anymore. When I bought the blue beast, I was working in a different job at my company where there were no such thing as "snow days". No matter the weather, I had to show up for work, no excuses, so I bought a late model like new 4x4 truck to make sure I was always here.

Now I think I'll just find a '90-something pickup to keep around for when I need to move the travel trailer somewhere and hauling off misc. junk from my property. If it snows or whatever now, I can just stay home.

3. I had to give up my car 3 years ago
My expenses went up when I had to leave my old apartment and I couldn't afford the insurance. I loved that car, I know how you feel.

But you never know what could happen. Things could turn around at any point!

7. yep, expenses up
I didn't know when I bought it that we would have a kid, that's been an expensive proposition in itself. Gas and groceries just keep going up, up, up.

And they say there's no inflation....:eyes:

Kid's probably going to cost you a little more.

Some advise from the parent of an incoming freshman - start that college fund now!

12. Search for a new *used* car on craigs list
www.craigslist.com

Sometimes there are good deals.
