Man, the Department of Human services can really fuck up your life
Edited on Mon Aug-13-07 11:52 AM by Roon
I get a benefit that pays my Medicaid/care premiums and I get food stamps. Once a year I have to be re-certified.That means I have to send in a copy of my lease, my letter from social security and my bills. For the last three years I was denied the Medicaid premiums. They take like$90.00 from my SS check if they don't qualify me every year. I had to jump through fucking hoops to make it right.

I got two letters from DHS and I opened the Medicaid approval letter first. I was approved!

Then I opened up my food stamp approval notice...DENIED!!! I called the office and they said that they never got my documents. Which is crap because it would have been sent back here if there was an issue with delivery. They got it, they just lost it. I had to go downtown and personally hand in the documents again and they told me it would take 30 days before I could get my food stamps again. My Grandparents will feed me for the month, but I think it's crap that they have to. This is total bullshit, what if I didn't have family to help out? I would be FUCKED!! Assholes.

2. Nothing like added stress in an already stressful life
Yes, I've found that dealing with gov't agencies can suck. Hope it's straightened out soon.

3. Thanks Sky
I was almost counting on them cutting my Medicaid but was shocked when they cut off my food stamps. Like I said in my OP...if I didn't have my Grandparents,I would have no food. :-(
