Laptop problem - help would be appreciated..

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop and from time to time while playing multi-media clips the sound will cut out and the only way to get it back is to re-boot the computer.

Any ideas?

1. Try this

Go to Start---> Control panel---> sounds & audio devices ---> Click on the Hardware tab---> Double click on your speaker icon (I think it's above the "audio codecs" icon)--> Under device usage switch it to "disable" then put it back to "enable".

Sometimes when I boot up my laptop, the sound doesn't work, and that's what I do to fix it. I hope it helps.

I'll give that a try as soon as it does it again (almost wish I could cause it to lose the sound to find out if this works).

3. Toshiba laptop battery

There was another article last Friday about Toshiba batteries being recalled. They mentioned Satellite models. Sorry I don't have a link for you, just wanted to give you a heads up in case you missed the article.
