remembering your child's wedding anniversary
is this really that important?? my oldest son just called me on the carpet because i "forgot his anniversary", which was two days ago. i told him that other than my OWN wedding anniversary, i just don't place any value in remembering others' anniversaries. of course, his wife's family went all out for them, gifts, etc.

what's the deal here?? my own mother thinks i should remember HER anniversary too (i don't)!

2. My parents and in-laws never remembered mine
But I do have to say, I usually remember my kids'. I think it's rather unreasonable to expect you to, though - if you did, that's nice but if not, so what?

3. My parents remembered mine this year,
which is good because I didn't. (Actually, I think my wife forgot, too.) They sent us a card and a check, which was unnecessary but very cool...

However, I would definitely not chastise them for not remembering.

4. I always try to say "Happy Anniversary" to my parents and siblings...
on their anniversaries, but I don't think any of them would find it a big deal if I didn't.

My parents have five children, all married, 11 grandchildren, and one grandchild on the way. When the next baby is born, that'll make 22 people. They have enough to do just remembering birthdays, let alone wedding anniversaries!

My husband's parents always send us a card and a modest gift for our anniversary. The big difference is that he's an only child, and his mother is very celebration-oriented (which can be lots of fun!).

I do know all of my siblings' anniversaries and my parents' anniversary, though.

6. My mom sent us a card last year. That's it.
Anything more than that would have been creepy.

7. The only time anyone has sent us an anniversary card
was for the 'big' ones... 10th and 20th. Other than that
