Woo hoo! MY leatherbound Lord of the Rings arrived! Beautiful!!
I started reading it last night.

So soft. So supple. The print is way larger than the teeny paperback I was reading that I could barely see...

Really, really well done edition, using the latest authoritative text from 2002. Sewn binding. Gilded edges.

Scrumptious!!!

8. After I got it, I did think "I should have gotten two..."
Edited on Fri Aug-10-07 10:25 AM by Rabrrrrrr
so I keep one in perfect condition...

But, books are meant to be read.

And I couldn't handle the print in my little paperback, plus my paperbacks are starting to fall apart, PLUS I bought them at the world trade center Borders (or Barnes & Noble, I can never tell the two apart) on the evening of Sept. 10, 2001, and started reading them on the subway ride to work on Sept. 11, so I don't want them to fall apart and want to keep them whole as a souvenir, for lack of a better word.

6. The book is about 8"x10", so yeah, larger print - about 12 point.
Not "large print" per se, but definitely bigger than paperback.

4. I'm a little jealous
I've talked myself out of buying one of those a few times now...it's my 'penny pinching' nature competing with my love of the books and the poor condition of the paper back editions I have. :)
