Myrna Loy Night on TCM.

One of my favorite actresses.
Maybe because she looks like my late mom.

Anyway...she's a delight and she was a staunch Democrat.

Challenging her MGM bosses in the 1930s she said: "Why does every black person in the movies have to play a servant? How about a black person walking up the steps of a court house carrying a briefcase?"

On her work with William Powell in the "Thin Man" series: "I never enjoyed my work more than when I worked with William Powell. He was a brilliant actor, a delightful companion, a great friend and above all, a true gentleman."

I love that lady.
:loveya:

1. She was a very classy lady.
And a fine actress. I never knew about her politics, but good for her.

2. Coming up: "Libeled Lady".
Loy, Powell, AND Spencer Tracy and Jean Harlow.
It doesn't get much better than this.
