Posterior vitreous detachment.
Anybody here had this? I have had it since March and am really tired of this worm swimming around in front of my eye. How long did it take to go away?

never goes away, its effect just becomes less noticable with time. No treatment indicated nor necessary. Very common.

Some folks liken it to getting used to your windshield wipers on your car in the rain

2. I've had 'floaters' for years
I don't know if that is the same thing. they are strands of protein that float around in vitreous, not the same thing as a 'detachment' I guess. I've heard of herbal treatments for what I have...don't know if they work or not.

3. I've had it in my left eye for more than two years
Vision blurred at left edge. Very annoying at times. Makes it harder to focus and read. I get floaters and when I turn my head in the dark, bright lights at the left outer edge.

Doc says it won't go away, he's had his for years. There is the danger of the eye becoming detached, so if you suddenly have a dark spot in the middle of your vision, get to you doctor's hospital asap.

Sorry you have posterior vitreous detachment (I can never remember the name).
