They had a section for crazed mother-in-laws. 2 suggestions made were #1) Blame your bladder and leave and #2) hire a fake guest whose purpose is to entertain the MIL and agree to whatever she says. Then after the wedding when the MIL mentions the guest act like you have no clue who that person was.

Edit note: I realize it was a crazed grandmother-in-law but you could probably use the same techniques
