I'm in Europe, having a blast, but was without internet access for the vast majority of the past week.

Aside from hearing about the bridge collapse via the BBC, I haven't heard any news, US or otherwise.

So, wise members of DU...what have I missed?

1. My dear huskerlaw!
Well.......GD is full of locked threads about folks leaving or not leaving!

Otherwise, I have no idea what's going on!

I am your basically clueless DU'er!

Glad to hear you're having a ball!

5. Ahhhh
pre-primary wars?

I am definitely having a ball, though my schedule is pretty calm for the rest of the trip. Which is good, since I am half-dead, lol.

:hi:

20. Don't make me write a poignant "I'm leaving, I mean it" message
I will, I mean it, if you make me mad I'm going home, and I'm taking my toys because this used to be fun and now its not so fun because some people, well, some people are just mean and don't care, but I do so don't beg me to stay. And anyway in 7 days I can come back and no one will know me.

6. If you're in Europe, you haven't missed anything.
On the contrary, you're safe. Just stay!

Hey, and visit us! :woohoo:

9. This is true!
I'll be in Belgium for the next few days...want to come over?? ;)

Actually, I will be in Zurich on Friday. But only long enough to catch my flight to LA, unfortunately. :(

11. Belgium?
I thought you were in Europe!

I wish we just could meet you in Zürich, but it's quite a way (Swisswise) and Friday is booked already. :( Sweet little airport - you can actually step out and have a smoke, if you smoke, that is. :)

12. HEYYYY!
From my Belgian friend: "...says the guy from the country with inferior chocolate!" ;)

I think I am only there for about an hour anyway...most of which will be spent dealing with customs and security.

8. A bunch of Democratic senators voted with the Republicans...
to extend warrantless wiretaps for six months (both my Senators Durbin and Obama voted AGAINST). Much angst on DU, as well there should be for that vote.

How did Hillary vote?

I have totally enjoyed the anti-Bush attitudes here. NOBODY can stand him. :woohoo:

16. Will Pitt and OperationMindCrime performed "AIDA" in its entirety, naked on top of a harpsichord.

I fell off my chair.

I always miss Naked AIDA Day! ;)

But I saw a naked man shaking his shit at a festival in Amsterdam, so maybe we are even.
