I mentioned it in MrScorpio's title sequence thread, but the only part that didn't suck was the title sequence. I wasn't even really expecting a good movie in the least, but it was even worse than expected.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. I dunno, discuss the movie, or other really shitty movies you've seen lately, or hijack it with a ridiculously asinine flamewar, or whatever it is you guys do around here. :P

1. I have heard nothing good about that movie
Worst one I have *EVER* seen was 'Beyond the wall of sleep'.

It makes the shit on the sci-fi channel look like best picture winners at the academy awards.

I could make a better movie with a toilet cam, a bottle of laxatives, twelve pack of beer, and a sack of white castles.

I can only imagine the film was true to its shitty trailer.

4. It's worse than the trailer lets on.
Seriously.

And maybe it's just me but it seemed to rip off both Pi and Lost Highway to an extent. Joel Schumacher is no Darren Aronofsky or David Lynch though.

Edited on Sun Aug-05-07 12:22 PM by jonnyblitz
on DVD again? :hi:

RE your OP, NO recent shitty movies come to mind. Usually when i DON'T like a movie it is one that everybody else just adores so it wouldn't be considered shitty, per se, just not to my tastes. I have strange/fussy movie tastes. I rarely like a comedy.

12. Comes out August 14.
There's an English version floating around the torrent sites now too. The DVD is going to be awesome though, lots of extras and stuff apparently.

9. Then you must not have seen "Shadowboxer".....
It's a couple of years old. I picked up the DVD in the Library thinking with it's excellent cast (Cuba Gooding, Helen Mirren, Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, Stephen Dorf) the movie couldn't be too bad. How wrong I was. The plot briefly is: Gooding and Mirren play a stepmother/son/lovers hitman team hired by Stephen Dorf to kill his pregnant wife because someone hinted she might have been unfaithful. But when they come to kill the wife, she goes into labor and they kidnap her and they all become a family. Happens all the time.

"Shadowboxer" is one of those movies that makes you think, "Who in the world could have thought this was a good idea?".

11. Jim Carrey sells "I'd like to slap you" aggression, but not insanity and obsession.
He was a decent jerk in the film, but was likely cast for name appeal.

Name appeal for a Burroughs concept...nice.

15. You're right.
I was bored in my hotel one night on my last trip and rented it. GAH what a stupid stupid completely pointless movie!

I also rented Zodiac, which ROCKED. Completely opposite ends of the spectrum.
