At a graduation ceremony at Pepperdine University in Malibu. I had no idea who whe was until they introduced her and she waved. She was charming and polite.

A friend of mine graduated from Pepperdine at Malibu in June 1984. The graduation ceremony was in a small outdoor ampitheater. I think only about 100 students were graduating that day. The keynote speaker was Peter Uberroth. A very pleasant, charming middle-aged lady was sitting next to me in the ampitheater. During the ceremony the announcer said, "we have a few honored guests with us today..." and mentioned 3 or 4 people who were in the audience. He said, "Mrs. Charlton Heston is here..." and people applauded while she waved politely. Up until that point I had no idea she was Mrs. Charlton Heston. Charlton Heston himself wasn't there because he was in Europe filming a movie. But one of their children was graduating that day. I can't remember whether it was a son or daughter, I kind of think a daughter but I'm not sure. I don't know if this was Lydia I sat next to or not. But she was a very pleasant and cordial towards me.

I hate the hypocrites: i.e. the one's who appear blatantly homophobic or make some sort of statements against homosexuality on the basis of their "morality", but should it be such a big thing otherwise?
