Gordon Lightfoot- "Sundown"
What can I say, I'm just in a Gordon Lightfoot kind of mood tonight. :) -WB

SUNDOWN
Gordon Lightfoot
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oui-56jA8HU

Lyrics:

I can see her lyin’ back in her satin dress
In a room where ya do what ya don’t confess
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin’ ’round my back stairs
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin’ ’round my back stairs

She’s been lookin’ like a queen in a sailor’s dream
And she don’t always say what she really means
Sometimes I think it’s a shame
When I get feelin’ better when I’m feelin’ no pain
Sometimes I think it’s a shame
When I get feelin’ better when I’m feelin’ no pain

I can picture every move that a man could make
Getting lost in her lovin’ is your first mistake
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin’ ’round my back stairs
Sometimes I think it’s a sin
When I feel like I’m winnin’ when I’m losin again

I can see her lookin’ fast in her faded jeans
She’s a hard lovin’ woman, got me feelin’ mean
Sometimes I think it’s a shame
When I get feelin’ better when I’m feelin’ no pain
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin’ ’round my back stairs
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin’ ’round my back stairs
Sometimes I think it’s a sin
When I feel like I’m winnin’ when I’m losin’ again

8. yeah but Cathy Smith was Lightfoot's mistress
then she later went on be involved in the Belushi thing. This is about his relationship with her, not the Belushi incident.

4. I always loved "Sundown"
For some reason it makes me picture driving or riding down a road that is descending a mountain into a valley, while there is a red sunset and a thundersorm in the distance. I don't know why, it just sounds that way.

6. I remember
hearing that song on the way to Holiday Downs in Atlanta. I was 9yr old flat-tracking motorcycles on Saturday Nights. We would crest a hill the sun would be going down and I would see all that clay and banked turns and lights and hear that song playing on the radio. Some things never leave you.
