How's everybody doing tonight?
I'm doing well. Started out really cloudy and rainy here, but it turned into a beautiful afternoon and evening. Got a couple of things done at work that I really needed to get done (yay!).

Now I'm kicked back, watching the Mariners/Red Sox game, and cruising around DU.

How about you? :hi:

2. I can talk now.
My voice still isn't quite 100% but it's really only an issue if I'm singing.

flvegan got the present I sent him.

I got an A in my summer class.

All in all I've had a pretty good week.

I actually had a high enough grade in Astronomy that I would have had an A- even if I didn't attempt the final. I'm pretty excited about that. :)

5. I'm great!
Heading for your area of the country tomorrow morning. My sister lives in Seattle; we are heading for the San Juans (BIL has a family house on Lopez), then the Olympic Peninsula, the start of our Betty McDonald tour, then we meet our internet book club in Portland.

Can't wait! It's been a hot, humid summer in Michigan. And dry. I packed things with long sleeves!

It can get humid here too, but your area is far worse for that! I would be a puddle on the floor for the whole summer in that much humidity.

53. When they came to Anaheim and L.A. last year
Edited on Fri Aug-03-07 11:12 PM by ZombyWoof
I saw them twice. Weird seeing them as the "away" team. The Angels-Mariners game went into 13 innings, and the M's won! Angels fans are so damn entitled and arrogant - they act like the 2002 World Series was just the other day. I loved wearing my Ichiro t-shirt. :D

I have been a Dodgers fan since I was a wee lad in the 70's, and didn't adopt the Mariners until I moved to Seattle in '88, while I was in college. I figured since there are two leagues, I can have two teams, lol.

No problem rooting against Anaheim (most Angelenos refuse to use the 'L.A.' in front of their name - they play in Orange County ferwapplersakes), but when the Mariners played the Dodgers, I was very close to neutral, lol. (The Dodgers won the game we went to)

55. Glad you got to see the games.
The Angels fans have nothing on the Red Sox fans for arrogance, though. Went to a game last year when they were hear, and they kept changing "Let's go Red Sox" so obnoxiously that the Mariners' fans had to boo them into silence. :grr:

BTW, where did you go to college here? UW? I went to Seattle University.

60. They were probably bandwagon fans
Didn't even know where Boston was on a map until they won.

One thing which made the '95 season so rewarding was that I suffered through all those BEAUTIFUL Seattle summer days in the freaking KINGDOME, rooting for the perennial sub-.500 underdogs. (Remember the SS Mariner cannon for home runs? LOL) I was a Lefebrve Believer!

My oh MY!

So many bandwagon fans as a result, I couldn't stand their blathering on TV. "I never followed baseball until they won!" :nuke:

I have a chunk of the Kingdome on one of my bookcases. :-)

CWU Wildcat here! It came down to either them or UW, but the reputation Central had as a teacher's college, plus the appeal of quiet rural living for a few years, won out. :D

63. Yeah, and they ALL come out of the woodwork when the Sox
are in town. :eyes:

I've been a baseball fan my whole life, but I confess I didn't pay a lot of attention to the Mariners when I moved here in '83. Was going through some bad stuff, plus I was working full time AND going to school full time. They were pretty much under my radar at that time.

I remember the first time I walked into Safeco Field, after seeing so many games at the Kingdome. When I walked up the stairs from the street to the main concourse, and saw the sun shining on a real grass field, I knew exactly how Dorothy felt when she landed in Oz!

I'm glad I went to SU; the classes are small, and the teaching is fabulous. I think I would have felt totally lost at UW, as the undergrad classes are so big.

Oh, and I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Oregon Ducks football fan, so my family probably would have disowned me had I gone to UW! The BLEED Duck Green!

That was a key factor for me too. And no frats at Central. Although I took some summer classes at the UW a few years after graduation to maintain my credentials and those were nice and small. So I have a soft spot for the Huskies.

Not an Oregon fan, BUT my all-time favorite QB played for them - Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Fouts! :bounce:

62. Mom is leaving tomorrow and will be gone for one whole week
Wheeeeeeee!! I moved in with her a year ago to look after her, but have regretted it since then. I miss living alone ... just me and my animals. Mom freaks out if I have a glass of wine. She's a fundie so that was my big mistake giving up my lovely home in S. Fla to move here. :hurts:

Mom got invited to go to Kenneth Copeland Convention in Texas by my fundie sister so off she goes in the morning and will be gone for ONE WHOLE WEEK. Yaaaayyyy

I am gonna buy a gallon of wine and cases of beer.

65. Salute!
Your's is definitely a case of blood being thicker than fundie-ism!

Have a great week! (Just don't forget to take the bottles out before mom gets home!)

It's Juliette Lewis and William Hurt, too...I should have never started watching it but it is really intriguing. I am jumping at every sound. lol.

86. Accepting of reality. Then I drank some hard liquor.
The buzz didn't help any attempts to communicate with neurotypical human beings.

Oh well.
