to the boston metro giving them the business on the piece that ran today in the "voices" section.

it's a piece by grace-marie turner trashing the FDA overhauL as being unsafe to americans. the overhauL wiLL make us sicker, possibLy kiLLing us, and wiLL make doctors inert for fear of Lawsuits.

so give me props for writing one without it being an activist corp item. :P

Turner's piece trashing the FDA overhaul is a farce enough on its own, so I feel no need to go point by point. I do however need to bring it to the Metro's readers' attention that this author is the mouthpiece for the free-market healthcare lobby and has also been the most vocal critic of Michael Moore's latest movie, Sicko. Simply adding the byline that she is president of the "Galen Institute" does a disservice to the Metro's readers. When such a biased piece is run in your paper, I'd like to see a little more information in the byline, on who this person is, and what their agenda is. Granted, a simple Google search will tell you all you need to know about the author, many readers may not have internet access.

they print some pretty shitty LTTE's, not even mentioning the fLame war they printed for about 2 weeks straight of LTTE's going back and forth attacking each other (about 2 years ago).
