12. That could be the problem right there. By the time you've gone through
all the reasons, the moment has passed...

You could keep a notebook.

5. My dear Hypno...
You already know the answer to that one, sweetie...

Inner beauty is way more important...

I know this is true, because the people I love aren't classically beautiful at all...

But inside...

They are glorious...

6. as my old pal in Louisiana used to say...
"Beauty is skin deep, but ugly is to the bone."

or as I like to say, "Beauty is as Beauty does"

9. You're crazy.
Physical beauty often vanishes when the lovely one opens his/her mouth. Maybe a statue is truly beautiful, but a beautiful human being is as likely as the next person to be average in every other respect. I can be swayed for an hour or a day by somebody who is physically beautiful but they don't get more of my time than that unless they are gifted with something beyond an attractive exterior.

10. A terrific mindset, but a second DUer came out in supporting the shallow.
Still, 2 vs 13 (as of this moment), seems we have far more humans here than mannequin worshipers.

11. I'm guessing people are interpreting the question in different ways.
I'm the first person to notice physical beauty and also the first person to turn away if there's nothing more than physical beauty.

13. Beauty from within.
Not saying I don't notice the outer person; I do. But if that outer self is just an empty shell, or stuck on themselves, or mean, or anything like that, they could look like Adonis and I wouldn't be interested.

17. Beauty from within as it lasts a lifetime, short term- people like physical usually
It is the old 'I am never going to grow old and look old, so I will focus on what my eyes like first' thing.

It all brought to mind my X girlfriend. Not real pretty, but someone you could hang with. I didn't mind how she looked, I knew she was one of a kind. Her parents and some of her actions got in the way though.

I broke it off and started a new relationship with my now wife. She saw us together one day and commented 'I am not surprised you are with her, I know you love beautiful women like most men do' - which had nothing to do with why we broke up at all.

I got em both, beauty and brains. But I would take brains anyday.

23. they arent exclusive you know. plenty of beautiful people are wonderful and plenty of ugly people
are assholes and plenty of pretty people are not very nice and plenty of ugly people are wonderful.

its not a useful thing to compare because the lack of one doesnt guarantee the other

I am not offering an opinion on whether it exists or not, but if it does, I cannot see it.

36. Isn't this dependent upon what time the clock in the bar says?
(Perception of beauty)x (tolerance of non-beauty)/ = (magnitude of inner beauty) x 1/days since last inflagrante dilecto.
