I could use some Lounge Vibes
Cellulitis in my right hand is hurting very much bad. The doc gave me a shot and some antibiotics and said it should be like new in about 2 weeks. I have pain meds but they either haven't kicked in or just can't handle this kind of pain. Cold water, hot water, ice, a bar b que grill, I'm willing tor try just about anything. The swelling feels like its going to split wide open. Just left Docs office 2 hours ago.

8. Elevating it helps some with the pain.
I had it years ago. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it's not spreading. I ended up in the hospital after it went from mid-hand all the way up to my elbow in a few hours. If you see the redness spreading call your dr or go to the ER. Also if it keeps swelling/ getting bigger contact your Dr. and/or get yourself to the hospital. My SIL had a fast swelling one from a bad shunt and she didn't make it to the ER before it well... suffice it to say she has an awful scar about a foot long on her arm.

I feel for ya outofbounds, it's one of the worst pain experiences in my life even after having 3 kids and two surgeries.

Hope it feels better soon.

12. Call and get better drugs
you get to decide what is and isn't pain, pain is a subjective notion and not quantifiable and practitioners are ethically responsible to keep their patients from having as much pain as is possible. I would suspect that you are going to have a degree of pain. On a scale of 1-10, you pick a number that is tolerable and work with your health care provider to get that number so that you aren't hurting.

Now some providers are not as amenable to that standard. However, ethically in the treatment of acute and chronic pain it is not a problem to ask for and receive adequate pain relief

good vibes and better meds :D
