Why do Dogs hate thunder?
It's thundering right now in Central Florida and just like clockwork, my dog has hopped on my lap and buried his head it to my chest.

It's mild thunder, but none the less, he's scared.

1. I don't think they can wrap their brains around it
My male dog is not only scared of thunder, but is also scared when the wind blows through the windows and the curtains move.

3. Mine is afraid of the wind too!
She'll follow me around the house sticking by my side like glue.

8. That's what mine does
If he can't find a human to hover around, he buries himself in my closet.

:hi:

2. My dog is not scared of thunder, some of the cats are.
With my dog I never made a big deal out of thunder, she just sleeps right though a storm.

I sorry your doggy is scared.

4. Not sure, but my female corgi starts acting strange when the storms
are over an hour away. She is also afraid of fireworks, gunshots, and any kind of booming, banging, or popping sounds. It sounds treatening to her even though she has never been harmed by anything associated with loud noises. The male isn't affected!

5. Awww... poor doggie.
I don't think it freaks all dogs out... but I'm sure some of them are just scared of the big mysterious noise. Same as kids, only furrier and you can leave them outside all the time.

7. my huskies are inside now.
The Lab and the German Shepard could care less about the thunder out there. May be breed related.

10. cuz you taught her that she gets to
sit on your lap when it thunders.
cesar would say you are nurturing a weak mind. this would be a good time to remind him that you are the big dog. it will make him feel better. make him do some down stay, then feed him.
