Must have tweaked it or something, but it's getting sorer as the evening goes on. x(

3. Take care of that ankle.
Get some ice on it, and if it doesn't feel better you might want to see a doctor.

My ankle still is a little tender and I hurt my ankle last September.

Is it your right or left ankle.

5. Left ankle.
Pushing our lawn mower is like pushing a '57 Caddy, and our lawn is sloped, so it really suck to mow it.

Dang, you hurt your ankle last September? Yikes! I did that to my left wrist a few years ago. It snowed, and I slipped and fell on the sidewalk. Caught myself with my left wrist, and it was a full year before it stopped bothering me.

Hope your's heals up soon.

13. Still wearing a stupid ankle brace, feels OK with it.
I have to wear high top shoe if I don't wear the brace.

What really helps my ankle is Ortho-Nesic, bought it at Walgreens.

This stuff is a gel, just rub it in, it has green tea in it.

My ankle is OK, I just can't take a long walk on it yet.

22. It is pain relieving gel, works fast.
It does get hot on your foot, but I think this is what is finally healing my ankle.

Mowing the lawn might have perks.

Massaging the ankle is a perk.

14. Maybe if you spank me you'll feel better
:)

You know, when I broke my leg last year, I would just soak that whole thing in a bucket of ice water. It was rough for the first 5 minutes, but then I was able to be able to stand it after that. I'd do that for about 20-25 minutes, once a day. It was so effective that for the first day and a half, I was walking around like and idiot on a broken leg. I barely had any bruising or anything. So if you maybe do that once or twice it should reduce your swelling even better than a regular ice pack.

Of course I am sort of insane. So you might not want to listen to me. :)

23. the emts who showed up were inept
I knew I broke it when it happened. Not totally snapped, but I knew it was at least cracked. They convinced me that I just twisted my ankle. Almost made me feel like a wimp for calling 911 for it. So they convinced me it was ok, and I could barely walk around for a day and a half, but I was hobbling around on it, then finally my aunt and uncle practically forced me to go to a hospital. Sure enough, it was a fracture. :)

Yeah, I am a bit wild. I had lots of sports injuries. I do weird things like my pinkie will dislocate when I reach for something. I just pop it back in in front of people. I am sick I know. :)

24. My youngest brother was in a bad car wreck a number of years ago.
Took the docs TWO WEEKS to figure out he'd broken his pelvis! Fortunately, it was still in alignment, so no permanent damage was done, but still!!!

27. that's another problem with our system
it's geared so much to saving money and getting people in and out of hospitals and emergency rooms, that often nurses or emts, or doctors, miss vital information like that. Like with me last week, I went to the emergency room, but the paramedics who came to the house basically got it into their heads that I just had a headache. I'm trying to tell the guy what is wrong with me and he's not even listening, arguing with my brother about the supposed unserious nature of my situation. I had all the symptoms of a brain aneurysm! He wasn't even going to transport me to the hospital until I demanded they did. Then based on his assessment the doctors almost acted like I had only a headache. They ended up doing all kinds of tests, and I was fine, but because I am so unsatisfied with our system, I'm going for a second opinion. You just can't be too safe. I mean it's almost like we are just numbers to people in the health professions. We get shipped in and out in such a cavalier manner, designed to save money and not to ensure adequate health, that a person just can't be too careful nowadays.
