Old friends....the best
I have known my oldest friend since I was five (we are 47 now). We met the summer before kindergarten and went from kindergarten all the way through college together. Our families are close friends, our older sisters are the same age, it's almost more like family than anything else. We have had our ups and downs; have had some knock down drag outs, and live very different lives. She's divorced from a millionaire, lives in Florida with two over achieving kids and I'm single in Michigan, working for the public sector and a quasi-stepmother to my SO's three kids.

But...damn! Doesn't matter how long we've not spoken, just one phone call and we're back to us. I just had the longest, best conversation with her; I was feeling insecure after a visit from another college roommate but Old Friend put it all in perspective. I wouldn't trade her for anything!

Your best friend? Old? New? Share!

1. Thank you, 1gobluedem.
This a great subject. My best friends are so busy that I have not talked to them in a long time. For example my two college friends. One is a single mother with three kids and the other has a busy job as a chemist, she's allergic to cats (so she can't come to my house).

I miss them, but I know we live different lives. We pray for each other and sometimes e-mail.

3. I've known my oldest friend since I was born
My twin brother and I were born on June 13, 1957, our oldest friend, Billy was also born on that day in the same year, at the same hospital at the same time, 5:05 pm. our parents weren't friends but we lived about 2 blocks apart. We just celebrated our 50th birthdays at 3 differnt parties. we've been in and out of touch over the years but mostly in touch.
